Im a polyglot so languages have gotten easy for me.

That being said i paid 20 bucks a month for unlimited Pimsleur.

Now i can speak japanese after just a couple weeks.

Im gonna do all 5 units which is 150 lessons.

I learned half the hiragana and gave up cuz katakana and kanji was next. I will one day learn but maybe after im fully conversational in japanese first.

if you read a ton of explanations of a grammar thing you saw in one sentence, even if you somehow manage to understnad the explanation, it won't actually click when you hear/read the sentence inr ealt ime
however, if you encounter that grammar bit dozens of times in different sentences, accepting that you don't understand it...your brain will naturally extract the meta-meaning of it from what all those sentences have in common, and THEN when you read an explanation it will click.
If reading grammar doesn't clarify stuff you already knew without realizing you already knew, it, you're reading grammar too early. Studying grammar is for people who already know the grammar, paradoxically. It clarifies fuzzy things but it wont' teach you anything from the start

I read a sentence and get stuck. Dictionary doesn't return a word, that sentence is effectively a black out. So I skip just to get stuck on next sentence. So I skip entire story learning nothing and I have to do this for several weeks and eventually my brain will through some meme magic goes kapow and suddenly i understand everything? i've heard way too many voice actors with standard tokyo japanese pronounce words differently from what the dictionaries say. I think it only matters for the really common words, the toher words aren't said often enough to have a definite 'proper pitch' unless their mora have some pattern that makes people naturally default to one accent
