I am so tired of these clichéd ecchi jokes. They are not funny or entertaining anymore. I didn't get a boner in any of the episodes. They are just cringe inducing. Saekano at least tried not to use these ecchi jokes but instead focus on good character development and serve its purpose well. This anime on the other hand tries to use all those "been there, done that" jokes and try to pass it off as entertaining. NO! You don't do that!

Ecchi jokes don't work anymore. Anyone who is planning to make an anime, DO NOT use ecchi jokes. Ecchi jokes are dead. They are not funny. All the ecchi jokes are just cash-grabbing, like to take people's time. I value my time and money and you should too. If you want to make a good comedy anime, do not use ecchi jokes. Make a good story with effort. There is no bigger crime than an anime that is meant to make people laugh or have a boner failed to do that.

It's not your memory it's the program's settings. If you are failing in the early learning stages, then add more learning steps. If you are failing a ton of mature cards, then adjust your interval modifier.

If none of this works (it should work tho) then make sure you are getting exercise, 8 or more hours of sleep, eating a balanced diet, and immersing as much as possible in raw Japanese content that you enjoy.

If none of that works, go to a doctor and get a sleep test for apnea, buy a white noise machine and black out curtains for your room. Also take blood tests or get a brain scan.

If none of that works, then uhhh keep immersing and uhh idk. You should be enjoying the process.

its not really wasted unless you spend way too long of it, even if it hasn't clicked yet, youll recognize similar sings when you see them in the future
the real problem is the brain makes sense of things by comparing them with past memories and experiences and you don't have any
immersion works because you fill yourself with experiences and memories, even if you don't consciously remember all of them, you'll stop in a couple years and go "OH I SAW THAT <wherever>" trying to memorize the rules/rummiating too much doesn't work if people still don't have the memories/experiences required, often they will not even recognize where whatever they memorized would apply

You need around 20k known words for low-level fluency (95% comprehension) and 30k for high-level fluency (98% comprehension). 30k is about what most native speakers know, but they have added cultural knowledge plus a lifetime of experience so you won't be native- level with 30k, but you will be good enough for just about anything with that many words. I haven't
There is still plenty (thousands) of vocab that I don't know in random seinen manga that I haven't bothered trying a real novel.

As far as english novels go, I think I can read just about anything an average native high school graduate can read. Slightly advanced stuff I can manage with a dictionary at hand.
English fiction never really interested me much, I have only read a few very famous novels such as 1984, the hitchhikers' guide to the galaxy and some others I don't remember the names of.
As far as english goes, I mainly consume nonfiction where the writers tries to explain concepts in simple terms so I never struggle there.

he kinda has a point. if you want to stop drinking, make it painful to drink, pour all the booze you have out, and whenever you succumb to your weakness and get more, in the moments of clarity, pour whatever you went buy too. don't get deliveries but rather make buying it as annoyong as possible. make booze not a release, but a torment. then you will stop and wont even want to do it. thats what help i can give you.

Learning Japanese, I am now more aware of my journey learning English ASL and how different both journeys are. I consumed so much shit, with subtitles and never though of it as crippling myself. I remember downloading translated subs because I couldn't understand it yet, no seconds thoughts, no "i am crippling myself", i remember downloading en subs, because they talked too fast and i couldn't hear them. I remember watching Venture bros, without calling it immersion. Just watching this amazing show, catching more subtle jokes and references over the years. I remember the day i decided to think completely in English, something I do to this day. I commented in English, searching up words, checking on words, wondering how the fuck i even know this word, i just knew i want to use it right here. I remember having a google docs filled with new words I occasionally checked. It wasn't mining, i wasn't grinding them, I just wanted to store them, like nugatory, titillating, amiable and corpuscle. I was having so much fun and now i can consume anything. Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead? Just watched. No subs. Didn't even think how amazing is it in fact.

Well, let's repeat that with Japanese. Yes, I will use anki, it's much better than google docs, but really, i will just consume media, not immerse myself with less than 10% comprehension. It bores me.
