Am I crazy or are verbs ending in す generally ones where you're doing something to someone/thing else? 正す is to correct someone else, 返す is to return something, 貸す is to lend to someone else. once you get to a level where relatively easy content exists, I think it's a good idea to alternate between stuff where you know almost every word and harder stuff. every time you experience known words, the ones you know but haven't quite sunk in to unforgettable level get more and more reinforced

If I'm completely blanking on a card or learning a new one I stop to look it up, repeat it and my mnemonic a few times in my head, maybe write it down a couple times. Seems to work really well, but it doubles my time/card

I can remember kanji just fine. The problem is just remembering new words and creating sentences. I figured the pomodoro method would work, but I don't know if I should waste my time on it. I usually just learn one thing for 5 minutes, do something else, then study for 5 minutes, repeat. That's not working as fast as I thought.
