If there are rumors about the implementation of a new ship girl of the Yugumo class and it turns out to be a big wave, is there a possibility that the Fletcher class is also a ship of the Little Beavers such as Charles Ausburn? Some of them were given to Germany after the war, and they seem to match the 38mm cannons that were rewarded for the repair mission. when will i be notified

Since the /a/ “thread” is still unusable for the time being, can I just say that the fifth episode was a bit jarring to say the least, lots of unnecessary shots and weird slow downs, like they were trying to pad the run time for some reason. The Shoukaku-class (and further development of Taiho-class) were Japan's advanced CVs.
Hiryuu and Souryuu were the pre-serial production run of cheaper fleet carriers, which then developed into the Unryuu-class. Similar to the 'high-low mix' construction doctrine, the Hiryuus/Unryuus were supposed to be mass produced for comparatively cheap costs, while the Shoukakus/Taihous would be the more rugged/expensive flattops, operating larger/more advanced aircraft. (And to further drive in this point, the Unryu-class production run lasted for five hulls before an even cheaper version - Ikoma-class - was ordered!)
Meanwhile, competitor nations picked a single fleet carrier design and went whole hog on it, because fuck high-low when you have mass average/medium. (Plus mass-low from cargo ships with flight decks stapled to the deck and barely any internal bulkheads/watertight doors, see: Bogue, Casablanca, Commencement Bay, etc.)
TL;DR the Unryus were budget fleet carriers, they're shit in-game because they were shit IRL, and if Ikoma is ever added (the devs added Zeppelin and Aquila, so...), she might be the first fleet carrier with a whopping two slots at base.

The only accurate increased utilization we could get out of the Unryuus (outside of disregarding their concept and artificially inflating their stats+capacity to match higher-end fleet carriers) is if the devs start handing out sonar equipment to the fluffy dragons. (Can they even be called that as a class descriptor? Outside of the lead ship, all the others were named after mountains.)
Turn them into an entire line of antisubmarine fleet carriers like Kaga K2Go; only DDH-142 would still have some differences in capabilities (jet compatibility, potential patched-in armored deck, etc.), while Unryuu K2s are entirely dedicated to the mission of 'death to the submarine'.

Haywood L. Edwards participated in the Surigao Strait night battle, as mentioned in the thread.
He was lent to the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and became the destroyer Ariake, and was used as the destroyer Kurokumo in the movie "Punching Fleet" shortly after that.
This Kurokumo participated in the Battle of Leyte as a member of Nishimura's fleet and returned alive, and also participated in the Battle of Bonomisaki.
