Alright, here's Scottish Meiling.

She was born into a middle class Scottish family that moved to British occupied Shanghai in the mid 19th century. Being fairly young at the time, she took to the local culture quickly. Though she enjoyed many aspects of the culture, it was the martial arts that she was most fascinated by. She proved herself to be a prodigy when it came to martial arts and wasted no time going from school to school in the city, trying to learn as much of it as she could. By the time she was in her late teens, she had already become as talented as some of the older martial artists in the city who had been honing their craft for their entire lives. It was this point in time when she took on a Chinese name of her own: Hong Meiling. Unfortunately for Meiling, her father's business in China came to an end soon after the adoption of this new identity and it was time for them to return to Scotland. While she was sad to leave this world behind, she was still excited to see what awaited her in the homeland that she could barely remember.

Despite her initial excitement, Meiling quickly found herself bored of the place. Her father had managed to make quite a lot of money with his business in the far east and purchased a modest estate for them to return to. This would have been a dream come true for most girls her age but to Meiling it felt like a prison. She felt as though her new life had none of the vibrance that it had in China. So strong was her attachment to her old life that she even refused to wear western clothes and stuck to wearing the training attire that she wore in the east. Much of her days were spent practicing her form and technique in the woods surrounding her home to keep herself sane.

That too got boring after a time so Meiling wandered off to see if the nearby town was any different. It was a lively port town but it was no Shanghai. She was walking along the docks and gazing at the ships, contemplating returning to the far east on her on when she heard a commotion. Upon going over to investigate, she found two sailors fighting each other while a crowd cheered them on and made bets on who the winner would be. The men threw strong punches but they had no technique behind their blows. Meiling thought that she could probably take them and she had the opportunity to prove it once one of them was knocked out. The man running the show stepped forward and proclaimed the standing man to be the winner and called for anyone in the crowd who was brave enough to take the winner on to step up, promising a sizable cash reward to the challenger should they win. No one did, so Meiling seized the opportunity and proclaimed herself to be the challenger. There Meiling was, a young Scotswoman dressed in oriental attire. After the initial absurdity of the sight wore off, the crowd erupted into laughter. The ringmaster told her that this was no place for her and told her to go home but she insisted upon the fight. The champion smirked and promised to take it easy on her but that would prove to be his undoing. He was barely able to get one punch out before the challenger knocked him out with a single precise strike to his chin. No one present expected such an outcome and stood in a stunned silence as the oddly dressed young lady bowed to her fallen challenger and thanked him for the bout. With that she turned to leave. As she walked past the ringmaster she asked him if he would be holding this event again. He confirmed that he would and she promised to return. Before she left, she asked her for her name to which she proudly replied "Hong Meiling!"

Meiling did not even think to collect her prize money. She had found her true reward in the form of a place to practice her art.

Practice her art she did. Meiling did not fail to return everyday to fight in the makeshift ring. There she faced all manner of challengers. Whether they were sailors, soldiers, or overconfident drunks, it did not matter to her. She was happy to have any opportunity to use the skills she had been honing throughout her youth. As for her challengers, most had never seen techniques like the ones she used and were ill prepared to face them. Even sailors who had visited the ports of China and had brawled with eastern martial artists had never seen them used so skillfully. Though they didn't take her seriously at first due to her appearance, they quickly learned to that she was not someone to be taken lightly. Even so, no one ever won their subsequent bouts with the eccentric young lady. Some who were particularly upset about their losses even attempted to attack her with weapons but that too proved to be futile in the face of her martial arts.

After a while Meiling felt as though she learned everything that she could in that little port town and decided that it was time to move on. She left her home behind and began wandering around the British Isles in search of new opponents, most of whom initially underestimated her and paid the price for their hubris. Once she felt content with what she had learned there, Meiling continued her warrior's pilgrimage on the European mainland. By this point Meiling's ability to wield her body as a lethal weapon had grown to the point where she began openly accepting challenges from weapon wielders to give herself a challenge. These bouts were closer but still ultimately ended in her victory. It was during these particularly close bouts that she began to sense something else within herself. The mystical life force that she knew of as qi.

Upon discovering the budding seeds of this potential within herself she began pushing herself even harder. She began taking on multiple opponents at once, sometimes even letting themselves arm themselves beforehand. Meiling could feel the presence of her qi growing with each encounter but she knew she could do better. Formal challenges were now too safe for her so she began taking the role of an aggressor. Meiling began taking the initiative and attacking known gangs and other dangerous organizations in an attempt to gain a mastery over her own life force. This manner of fighting was too much even for Meiling and she was barely able to make it triumphantly out of each battle by the skin of her teeth. However, each one of these encounters also brought her closer to gaining the mastery she sought. Though this feeling of progression filled Meiling with a sense of accomplishment, each step she took forward only served to weaken the adrenaline rushes that have kept her going for so long. As her mastery over her qi grew, so did her weariness towards such mundane opponents.

Sensing that what she was doing was no longer sufficient, she began seeking out the beasts from legends and folklore to test herself against.

Much of Meiling's days had been filled with either fighting or searching for a fight up until this point. The hunt for mythical creatures was a new pace for her. They were not things that could be found in any old place like a person looking for a fight was. They had to be painstakingly sought out. Between wandering through backwoods villages in search of a legend and trudging through the wilderness to actually find it, she had a lot of time to think and meditate on everything she had done. She had even begun practicing Tai Chi again, a style that she had shelved in favor of more aggressive techniques for most of her journey. Interestingly enough, she found that it seemed to do just as much for her ability to sense the flow of qi as vigorously pushing her body did.

Maybe it was because Meiling herself had begun dipping her toes into the mystical in her pursuit of qi that she did not have much difficulty finding the storied beasts she was searching for. They almost seemed drawn to her as though they could sense her slowly morphing nature better than she could. Just as she had hoped, they provided her with challenges at a level that a human fighter could no longer provide. Once she had faced number of these beasts and gained good grasp on what level of supernatural entity she could take on, she began pushing herself once more, searching for even more dangerous creatures. Meiling was oblivious of the fact that she had become one herself at this point. She was not even aware that she had not physically aged for some time now.

It was during a stay in a rural tavern that she learned of a particularly dangerous creature that possessed supernatural strength, speed, and mastery over various dark arts. A creature known as a vampire.

The hunt took Meiling to a remote region of Romania. The locals seemed wary of speaking to her on this topic and either quickly changed the subject or tried to dissuade her from searching for the vampire. The way that they spoke of this creature was all that she needed to know that she was close to finding it. A search in one of the larger villages provided her with a legend that spoke of a castle that only appears during a full moon that was located somewhere in a dense forest. The legend claimed that it was a vampire's spell that caused this effect and that mere mention of a vampire was all that Meiling needed to pursue this lead. With a worn map that had its alleged location marked on it in hand, she set out to find it.

The trek was a peaceful one for Meiling. She was confident that there was nothing that could possibly harm her in the forest, not until a full moon at least. She was excited for the prospect of finally encountering a being that could be her equal. Meiling had not been as excited to face someone in a long time. What would she do? How would she counter? Her mind raced with the possibilities. Eventually,she walked into a large clearing in the forest. Predicting that this will be the place based on the its location on the map, Meiling meditated and waited until the full moon.

After several nights of waiting, the night of the full moon arrived. As told by the legend, a castle phased into existence. Its image wavered like a mirage before solidifying and anchoring itself into reality. The martial artist gazed up at it for a moment. She had not actually thought about what the vampire would even look like. Would it be an aristocratic gentleman? A beastly brute? Maybe even a young woman like herself? There was only one way to find out. Meiling approached the gates of the castle and kicked them open. She loudly announced her name and intent, demanding the master of the castle come out to accept her challenge. After a moment she heard a light chuckle echo out from within the castle and out of the darkness came a....young girl? Meiling was taken aback. She did not expect that the vampire would be someone so young. The vampire took note of the challenger's surprise and grinned at her, asking her if she was surprised. If the fangs that she flashed Meiling were not a giveaway then the bat-like wings that unfurled from the young girl's back definitely would have been. This was the vampire. Meiling confessed to her surprise but claimed that having been underestimated for her appearance in her own past, she was not intending on taking the vampire lightly. The vampire agreed to humor the challenger, claiming that she was looking to be entertained anyways. The vampire curtsied and formally introduced herself as Remilia Scarlet, the mistress of this castle. Meiling gave her own name in reply along with a bow but could tell that she was clearly being underestimated. She was going to show the vampire the error of her ways.

Meiling prepared to close the distance between them but to her astonishment, the vampire had not only closed it first but was already in the process of striking out at her. Meiling had barely managed to dodge the vampire's strike, a feat that Remilia praised her for. She casually remarked on how many hunters of her kind she had killed in the past with simple maneuver. The martial artist lashed out with a strike of her own in retaliation but the strike missed its mark entirely. In the blink of an eye the vampire had returned to her initial spot. It was as though she was mocking her challenger, a notion that was all but proven by the smug grin on her face. This time Remilia invited the challenger to approach her and try her best, promising not to move from that spot. Meiling was still intent on making the vampire take her seriously. She closed the distance and threw out a barrage of strikes at the vampire. The vampire seemed to have little to no difficulty dodging each strike. She did not bother to block or deflect, simply choosing to observe the martial artist. Remilia praised the martial artist's technique, telling her that she could count the vampire hunters that could take her on a single hand. Finally, Meiling threw out a kick in an attempt to surprise the vampire. The vampire blocked it with her forearm. Remilia confirmed her surprise at the speed of the kick but pointed out that she has yet to be moved from her spot.

The vampire announced that it was now her turn and began a similar assault. Remilia's strikes were just as quick as they were during her initial attempt on the challenger's life. Even channeling her qi, Meiling could barely block the incoming blows. She knew that if any one of these blows landed directly it would be bad for her. Though she was successfully blocking the attacks, Meiling knew she could not keep this up forever. It was then that she took note of something important about Remilia's strikes. There was no technique behind them. Despite her innate strength and speed, she was not accustomed to hand to hand fighting. She was simply lashing out as a child might, albeit an exceptionally dangerous child. Gambling on the vampire being unaware of her footwork, Meiling kicked down at the vampire's knee. The gamble paid off. Remilia was caught completely off guard and was thrown off balance for just long enough for Meiling to raise her knee up towards the vampire's head as it she toppled in its direction. The loud crack of a skull shattering echoed through the night and a second one followed it as she slammed her fist into the vampire's head in an attempt to finish her. The force of the blow forced the vampire onto the ground face first. Seeing her now, Meiling almost felt sorry for her. It was difficult for her not, given the vampire's form. The martial artist thanked her for the bout and was about to bow when she heard the sounds of bone crunching and cracking.beneath her. A low chuckle emitted from the seemingly broken vampire. She announced that they were not done yet. Before Meiling could create some distance, Remilia's hand shot out to grab her by the ankle. In an unholy display of her vampiric strength, Remlia swung the much larger Meiling into the ground with one arm. She did not let go and continued to slam Meiling into the ground again and again. Though her skull had repaired itself, the vampire was clearly upset over what happened. Finally the vampire regained her cool and tossed the martial artist out the gates. Remilia dusted herself off and remarked on how long it had been since she was last forced to use utilize her regeneration. It was for that achievement that she was allowing Meiling to leave with her life. With that, the vampire returned to the darkness of her castle.

Meiling lay where she landed just outside the gates. She didn't expect that this is how she would be defeated. Despite the grim outcome she was content with herself. She found what she was looking for. A worthy foe to test herself against. She stayed there for the rest of the night until the castle disappeared again. If not for her injuries, the martial artist might have simply thought she had a dream. Though the vampire allowed her to leave with her life, Meiling did not intend on going anywhere. She was going to train here, wait for the next full moon, and challenge the vampire again.

During her month in the forest clearing Meiling learned that she was far from the only person to come seeking the vampire. The mistress of the castle mentioned vampire hunters and they were clearly still seeking to eliminate her. Meiling could not allow this. The vampire was her challenge to overcome. Though she no longer sought to fight with humans, she beat them down all the same. When the initial hunters were not heard from again, they simply sent more.

When the night of the full moon came about once more, Meiling kicked the gates open and challenged the vampire a second time. Remilia appeared before the martial artist, praising her tenacity. It also seemed she was aware of what Meiling had inadvertently done for her during the month, heaping extra praise onto her for ridding her of the vampire hunters. Remilia remarked that Meiling would have made for an excellent gatekeeper. The martial artist scoffed at the idea and request another match if the vampire was so grateful for what she had done. Remilia agreed to it. Unfortunately this bout did not go any better for Meiling than the first did. There was only so much that technique could do in the face of such overwhelming strength and speed. Just like the previous month, she was thrown out after her defeat. This time the vampire offered her yet another match if she kept the hunters away again.

The next month went similarly. Hunters came in search of the vampire and Meiling beat them down. Her challenges went similarly as well. She was always defeated by the vampire and always given the same offer as before. After a time the hunters stopped showing up but Meiling refused to go anywhere. She wanted to continue challenging the vampire. Remilia did not seem to mind. She seemed to enjoy the periodic exercise she got out of these challenges even if exercise was not something that her kind typically needed. Even the other members of the vampire's household began coming out to watch when these bouts would occur. As the months turned into years, Meiling became a well known fixture of this household and found herself on friendly terms with many of them. The mistress of the house even offered her a permanent position as the official gatekeeper of her estate, a position that she accepted, seeing as she did not intend on going anywhere anytime soon.

As the years continued to pass Meiling found herself caring less and less about challenging Remilia. The vampire was an insurmountable foe that she was unlikely to beat any time soon and her new life as part of the household was a peaceful one. She had forgotten what it was like to live such a peaceful life. Meiling thought back to her family home in Scotland. She could have lived a peaceful life there if she just let go of her obsession with martial arts and settled down. She looked back at the estate that she now guarded. It was not too long ago that the mistress relocated the entire household to some place in Japan. The gatekeeper realized that she now felt a certain fondness towards the household and wondered if she had lost her edge. Maybe she did and maybe that was fine. A warm breeze passed through her hair. It was a perfect day for a nap, and so she closed her eyes to take one.

For the sake of this, since I don't think it was ever mentioned specifically what kind of youkai Meiling is, it was a combination of qi mastery and the sheer strength of her desire to get stronger and stronger that changed her physiology to something other than human. Playing a bit on that old cliche about obsession making a beast out of people.

So Bible states that the angels that rebelled are all chained up in the deepest parts of something, this is not the lake of fire according to more literal translations. Demons are mentioned as something that was already there in the pit, again not the lake of fire, and were displaced as they fear to tread in the lowest parts of the pit where angels are chain up.
Obviously if all the angels are chained up awaiting the time they can be set free over judgement day then demons have to be some other kind of entity unrelated and preexisting.

In Genesis 19, the angels who accompanied God in the previous chapter visit Lot in Sodom, but the locals attempt to rape them, prompting God to destroy Sodom.
In Genesis 21, an angel again appears to Hagar and guides her in the desert.
In Genesis 22, an angel halts Abraham from sacrificing Isaac.
In Genesis 28, Jacob has a vision of a ladder that angels are climbing up and down.
In Genesis 33, Jacob wrestles with what is either an angel or God himself (it's ambigous). God then gives him the epithet Israel.
