It's not really a sequel, and nope, not finished yet. It seems to have suffered something from having entered a warp tunnel (why the hell did it go to version 0.070 from version 0.086), but it looks like it's back on track.

Is there a difference between Yume Nikki and Yume 2kki?
I thought it was just a different way of writing it (like writing K1 in stead of Keiichi), but wikipedia notes it as a sequel.

yume nikki is the original, but i have no qualms against 2kki because i have not played it. however i have read that it has more direction, and less 'aimless wandering' which is what is an often complaint about yume nikki.
