I've just finished Utawarerumono.

I can't help but to only feel confused. I will keep it short to avoid spoilers, though. Does the game have more than one ending? I can't help but to feel I didn't get the best possible ending... But the way the game is styled, it doesn't seem likely that there is more than one ending.

Also, I'm really confused about everything surrounding Mikoto and Hakuoro. Maybe I'm dumb, but I felt the game didn't provide me enough information to understand everything. Is it only me?

Hope anyone can answer one of my questions. Also, English is not my native language, so forgive me if I sound odd.

There is only one ending. While the last part of the game is pretty rushed and throws a lot of plot at you, I think it wrapped up everything nicely. What is it that you didn't understand? Be more specific.

Your dumb.
But yeah, sadly there is only one ending.

There's "more than one ending" in that some events in the story might not happen if you don't battle well enough...at least I remember reading that in developer's comments section
However, I don't think I missed a single scene.

No.. when you play the game over AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER again.. then it will change endings.

It's a linear plot overall. There's only one ending.
As for the confusion, Hakuoro originally lived a loooong time ago, but was possessed by the demon-god as he was dying. He then went into hibernation until he was woken by the scientists. He lost his memory, so he did not understand anything about him, and the scientists, who could no longer tolerate the outside atmosphere due to the decrease in their natural immune systems, believed that they could harness his mask as a way to live in nature again. They had created half-human half-animal hybrids as another venue towards living outside. One of those was Mikoto, whom Hakuoro fell in love with. After they escaped, he impregnated her before they were caught. After finding her pregnant, they put her body through tests to find out why she was able to conceive a child with him. When he found out about this, he flew into a rage, which unleashed the demon-god, who started punishing all the scientists for their search for a stronger body by turning them into immortal blobs of meat. The human side of Hakuoro did not want to do this, and pleaded for someone to stop him. Mutsumi, one of the clone prototypes made from Hakuoro, managed to hack into the scientists' computer systems and ENEMY AIRSTRIKE INCOMING. This damage from this forced him into hibernation again, and when he woke up at the beginning of the game, that is why he was in such bad shape./
Does that make it a bit clearer?

I've only missed two CGs. I think it were Aruruw ones.

I didn't understand the whole thing about Mikoto's master key being given as a luck charm to the baby. Does that make the baby Eruruw? (and that raises too many questions I'm afraid to ask and look even dumber) Eruruw had it and it was used to open a door near the end...

I hadn't played the game in quite some time, so maybe there was some sort of explanation in the beggining of the game as to how she acquired the master key.

In before sperm song

Hakuoro had a child with Mikoto after escaping.
Asshole humans capture all three.
They dissect Mikoto for the sake of SCIENCE, but keep her child intact since Hakuoro's kid = potential for more SCIENCE.
Hakuoro gets pissed and blobs every human, animal people escape and repopulate planet. Including his child, who is Eruruu/Aruruu's ancestor.

Hakuoro has been doing his great-great-great-etc-granddaughter.
Everyone else was genetically created from him, and this to a certain degree also his descendents.
Utawarerumono is all about incest

It's a shitty ending, but it's still a "good end" as the faceless protagonist goes back to his harem sans sickly girl.
