Great games, I'm still a rusty fuck but since you were kind enough to stick to a character inferior to mine matchup-wise I at least was able to have a lot of fun as opposed to criticizing myself for making a bunch of stupid mistakes and toss my controller at the wall; despite how sure I am you've already posted I can hope as I hit submit without pressing F5 that you feel the same way.
I'm also proud of you for running the 'wako helicopter alt 623 as opposed to the laser one in most decks; it's a good yet underappreciated card and you make hella good work of it. Good job, bro.

Aaand I've done my job of provoking the first nine posts in the thread to be nothing but faggotry, so it's time to leave it and let it grow. I'll be back to water it with my IP again later.

Goddamn anonymous, you always do such an excellent job of reminding me how much I hate myself. GGs and such.

So it boiled down to a point where I couldn't stand playing only Chirno anymore because I hate my own guts enough already; mainly, those full-second-or-longer "lapses" where I think I'm reacting on a muscle memory or something but I'm actually not, hence moments like the four or so where I'd random a SC out of nowhere or do some stupid move when I should be blocking. Hell, one of those moments was where I was remembering how Magister used Giga Flare when his opponent was out of orbs so I waited until you were in such a condition then prepared to push the button; my shitty-ass reflexes didn't actually end up hitting it until you regenerated them all and were already at the other side of the screen. Mistakes are one thing, but when they get this bad and constantly happen I don't know, this game is the ultimate in rage inspiration. Or at least way up there.

Still I think you're a great player and bring a lot of good shit to /jp/, namely how I constantly see you doing things that have never seen practical use and thinking up fancy new combos that the tourneyfags wouldn't dream of. You're cool and should feel cool.
That said, I'm pretty angry at how I snagged a few rounds or even matches because of you testing your decks, because in the state I'm in they were all flukes and I didn't deserve them at all. Goddamn I mad.

Still, thanks for the games and you have a wonderful day, friend.

Always with the anonyline to contrast my treeagraph.

But just fyi they're even gayer when the Utsuho in question isn't fumbling launching lasers in the other direction and shit then realizing like a full minute later "oh yeah THAT's what the bnb wa-- shit match over"
God I hate this game.

Also for future reference while the mines may not have blocked the loliballs themselves they at least blocked me from following up with default 623B/C and if they didn't my controller would've, but taking the damage just to keep that from happening I'll admit is pretty silly. It's hard to keep zoning under control against Suika considering she more or less has control of the screen at all times so long as they're not Giant Free, but skillcards that limit movement are always a beneficial thing to have there.

Various other self-bashes and excuses for losing in unnecessary spoilertags.

You should give yourself more credit, tree. When I play you, it's like we're actually fighting instead of 'beating stupid move: (insert my char) edition.'
It seems to me like you're thinking of what to do in a situation once the situation is occurring, at which point it's already too late to resond. This is what I do about those situations. Go to practice mode, pick the chars in question, and think up a bunch of different scenarios. Here you can come up with as many responses as you like. Yeah it sucks trying to do two players' inputs at once, but it's the best way to come up with automatic responses. Say 'I'm near the corner. The opponent is flying at me with bullets in front of him, low to the ground. I can do a,b,c.'
Once you do that, the goal in-match is to look for the things that LEAD UP TO those scenarios. From there, you can pinch off the shit before it hits the fan, or even get the opponent to walk into your own chocolatey goodness.

tl;dr, practice mode, baby

Yeah, I know all about situations and what to do, my only problem is execution. I can envision what's going on just fine and know what button combination or whatever it is I need to do, but when it boils down to the moment of actually doing it it doesn't happen, even moreso now than before because I'd been gone for so long.
I've tried the custom AI and I've tried practice modo but no matter how much I grind execution it isn't magically going to come to me; I've just always had slow reflexes so for the most part I'm doomed to be a casual the rest of my life. If there was something I could do to improve that that'd be great, but I don't have high hopes so I'll just stick where I'm at for the time being. Complaining is more fun than winning, anyway; I'm pretty much here as main "advisor" in the soku scene because I know how to do things yet can't do them myself.

I have fun that way, anyway. But making a bunch of stupid mistakes is pretty frustrating sometimes.
Thanks for showing your kind heart though, anon.

About Reimu's hitbox: I play Iku, her attack hitboxes are rather pinpoint-ish, and her attacks are punishable on whiff, so she's particularly fragile to this trait. Reimu's j.5A has a lot of range for its speed, and her ground attacks change her own hitbox size and position, and she evades the attacks (if her hitbox had been in the midle of her sprite, she'd have been hit).
So she does have some weird hitboxes. She's also small compared to most of the cast.
A Character that is Full Spirit Bar reliant can't build an offensive after a BE, so it's relevant. Specific Cards Reliance means the deckbuilding can't be as good, and at its worst means the character has almost no chance to win the first round, and is a bad matchup against any pressure based character/deck.
You're right about the bomb/hangeki reliance though.

I don't consider this game a simple fighting game, it has so many TCG related things one could call it a hybrid of the two genres. Some characters even have lvl5 SC nukes that pretty much assure 2/3 of a round per game. i.e. Iku's lvl5 SC. Its use is not trivial, but it's not that complicated either to make it deal 5k damage surely, and sometimes 7k (except vs remilia, where it does nothing).

Where did this come from? It seems semi educated, but then I find some examples that are brutally off.
Also the categories "Wakeup game" and "Crossup" are more than just a little vague.
Wakeup I assume is the ability to oki into chip damage/advantage, but Tenshi is rated 2 despite having 66B 214B for high chip and repressure. Yet Alice is rated 5, despite being unable to effectively oki into any chip damage and C doll setups reduce a blocker's spirit less than the cost to summon said doll.
For crossups Sakuya is by far the best in the game due to bouncing knives of all kinds and j.2a but she has a 4. Remi's dash to j.2A and offensive BEs don't give her a 5 in crossup? How can Reimu's behind the back teleport drops not move her past 1? How is Reisen's crossup rating a 1 when she has j.2a, run through 6a, wakeups with 3[A] and 6[A]. But Alice and Iku (???) have a rating of 3? And Komachi who's only powerful crossups are j.2a and off-screen-fireball is rated the only 5?

wakeup game is basically okizeme, the ability to get into advantage on the opponents wakeup. So characters that can set up a lot of stuff and get into melee range fast get a higher score. Tenshis j.5A is not meaty at all and most of her bullets except j.2A can't be immediately followed up. I can't see how her 214 would continue pressure outside of a corner, considering the huge push away.
I might have to reconsider Reisens crossup options but I didn't see a single Reimu crossup with teleport since Soku. Remilias ability to crossup drops a lot if she can't ground dash over the opponent. Komachis j.2A and slow whisps get her a deserved 5.

I tried not to base the stats on my opinions as much as possible. Feel free to state your ideas.

>>4203241
I agree that Alices pressure is pretty horrible but her high/low is not that bad.

Marisas only usable high attack is f.5A since 6A cannot chain into anything which reduces her options to either 2A 3A or f5A 3A. (or some risky 5A loop)

Certain characters can set up a lot of shit but can't capitalize on it at all. Other characters can't set up anything but are guaranteed (excluding characters with DPs or reversal cards) to be able to oki into damage. Tenshi 66B 214B, Yukari 66B 623C, etc. As far as some kind of mindgame is involved, there isn't one. But when used properly those okis will add 300-500 damage to every knockdown. Alice can throw a ton of shit, and then do nothing with it because she spends more spirit setting up than she drains and she has little to no chip damage to gain off of it.

Dimglow here. As probably the top tourneyfag with Yukari I'll give you my opinion on Yukari's stats. You didn't do a bad job, there are a few mistakes though.
Midscreen: 3. Yukari's top combo against 5 characters is 1510 damage. The other 150 can be hit for 2800+, but only if flush against Yukari. Average midscreen damage is ~2000ish.
Corner: 3. Yukari's damage goes down in the corner on some characters. Tops out around 2400, but 2200 is your only reliable bet.
Air damage: 2. Yukari's big weakness is air to air. I'd lean towards 1 but there are weaker characters who belong in 1.
Bullet cover: 3. B bullets work at midrange, longrange they fan out and lose effectiveness. 2C is the only bullet cover option for air to air, but it also does the job well. Long range cover can only be generated through spellcards.
Bullet Force: 5. I assume this means density, ability to cut through other bullets, not damage.
Midscreen Pressure: 4. Would be 5 if 1/4th of the cast had much less fear of midscreen.
Corner Pressure: 3. Nothing is tight. Nothing frametraps. Highjumps are difficult to punish.
Air Pressure: 2. Yukari has one airtight string in the air. It costs 2.5x more orbs to perform than it drains. But she can air pressure into grounded unblockables.
High/Low: 4 is fair. Would be 5 if she had a 3[A].
More in next post.

Wakeup game: 3. 66b 623C is too good to pass up.
Spirit Damage: 3 is fair. SWR Yukari was a 5 here though. Poor Ran.
Graze Attacks: 6. Once 66C gets nerfed then it would be a 5. Right now though... 6.
Jump punish: 2. Yukari high jump punish is 1. Normal jump punish is 3ish.
Reversal/DP: 4 if you count 66C as a reversal. If not then 3. While not having a DP, proper use of ducking into borders with 3A or 2B and using 623 give her strong break out potential.
Anti Air: 4. Good call here.
Dash/Flight: N/A. Yukari's dash is too weird to judge fairly. The sideways hitbox part sucks. Dashing over some low attacks is strong though. Walldashing also is pretty weak in some matchups and annoyingly strong in others.
Crossup: 3. And all that's holding that 3 up is teleports.
Hitbox: 2. This is fair. Yukari's hitbox is really big, but she's no Iku who's hitbox is both giant and floaty letting her get hit by everything.

Thanks. We seem to agree on most things.

Corner dmg: I'm pretty sure 5AAA 5B 5C 623C works on everyone in point-blank corner. Up to 2633 damage depending on character.

Midscreen presuure: I gave her a 5 because Yukari can continue pressure about forever if you can get them to wrongblock 3A or 6A every time, and even if they don't you can punish grazing out.

Corner pressure: No frametraps? No punish jumping out? 623 is all you need for that. You can get people to block everything if you get them to fear the spinnin' parasol.

The 2 on reversal is solely because of her 4card pinku border. It's a reversal, that's about it.

For hitbox, she does have 3A. I'm sure you know how to use it that way.

I would be wary of making assumptions of perfect conditions which seems to be what you're working with.
Yukari combos fall apart if a few pixels of distance are thrown in, such as you are near corner and begin a dial A pushing them back, or if the opponent is ducking when they get hit, IE pushing 2 8 to highjump. Sure with a perfect corner and a flush position you can do more, but I'll have to ask you to take my word for it that the average damage potential is considerably lower, especially since 3A loses nearly all comboability in the corner.
Regarding midscreen pressure, again, how can you assume you'll force someone to wrongblock 6A/3A perfectly? Yukari's midscreen pressure comes from the extravagant blockstun/pushback on B bullets, but that loses steam against the 5 characters who aren't tightly pressured by it and anyone who ducks or has a very fast backdash, like Suika. Also worst case scenario is getting DP mashed during a blocked dial A. Believe it or not Youmu/Remi/Etc can DP between the 3rd and 4th hit in dial A even if you do it as fast as possible.
Corner pressure requires wrongblocks to operate. If an enemy rightblocks your only recourse would be 623C, so you get chips and you reset to neutral or pay a spellcard after 623c and repressure.
As for reversals, if the criteria is invulnerable reversals that's fair. There is also a tiny (yet worthless) startup invulnerability on Nests as well.

If you get a 5A with dashing momentum to hit, theres not much that can go wrong.
I can see that we are playing Yukari completley different when you say that you rely on 5B in your midscreen pressure. I usually go for 5AA/2AAA -> 6A/3A -> 2C and if its wrongblocked you can rejump. If it's blocked right do 623C and it will beat most graze attacks and jumpouts. You can also take out the 6A/3A part and go for 2C- rejump right after if they are just waiting for 6A/3A. (an opponent that blocks low rarely jumps out)
I find the risk of getting hit by a graze attack while doing 5B a little intimidating.
You do not have to use a spellcard after 623C. Most characters can't punish it and either try to do some long-range poke after it which gives you momentum again or dash into 5a/2a which leaves them open for the dash.

My Yukari would fail much less If I didn't have to use j.6A so often and of course, get punished for a whiff. I also never played someone who uses BE as anything else than a last escape from a crush by the way.

Watch a couple of these guys play matches and learn combos for limit breaking, and o right make sure you time the spell cards, cause there was a lot of missed times you could of own the match if they hit. try to do 5AA to at least make an opening, you lose some damage off the spell but at least it forces a hit.

This discussion is fascinating. I just wish that there was a really good Remilia player (maybe anonymous could work? he seemed pretty decent with her) to argue against putting her at 47 - on par with Meiling herself. I mean, don't get me wrong: my Remilia would be rated a 0, but I think that she has so much more potential and actual output than what you represented.

Anyways, what do you mean by "damage"? Like, with corner damage do you mean how much damage is essentially guaranteed when the character traps their opponent in the corner, or is it simply an analysis of the highest possible damage in midscreen and highest possible damage in corner? Does ease of execution get factored in, or is it all about the ending number?

Can't find anything to say but I can see some improvement in you. Just learn to expand on those tech traps that you nailed me so many times. Picking off another 1500+ dmg combo is alot better than just hitting a j.5A and landing; against a better player you'd catch DPs, counter combos, or simply someone that blocks and picks off your mistakes later. Just a basic j.5A6A [6B with Suika/Reimu/Sakuya, 5C everyone else] can do some damage, and take off MORE than a normal combo+SC if done multiple times in a match. Those matches were close because I held back during Typhoons, but nailing those tech traps will make any real match your victory.

By damage, I mean the raw damage, starting from either 5A, far5A or a close bullet without spellcards. Those could go into a seperate one, but I'm not sure. The stats are on average as Dimglow said. If you can do 50% 1500 on tiny characters and 50% 2500 damage on tall ones you get an average of 2000. Marisa can do 3500 damage midscreen on 20% of the cast with some amount of execution, but her average is still horrible.

I didn't do perfect calculations but took in mind what I know.

The pushback is one of Yukari's best powers though. It corners opponents quickly.
You can retain pressure after 5B, but you have to learn to do what I call skimkicking (really low to the ground j.6a into j.5c) and then D6 (not j.66, Yukari j.66 has arc) into another skimkick or j.5A depending on distance. But you said you had some trouble with j.6a earlier if this is the same person (and missing it will hang you out to dry.) It's difficult but with proper spacing j.6a j.5c becomes tight. Just never do it without a dash cancel remaining or you'll get stuck.
Alternatively you can triangle jump (be careful not to impact land and trigger recovery coming down) and repressure on the ground in some situations near the corner.
If you need clarification or anything feel free to ask.

Good games.
You should never mash on wakeup. Even if it looks like your opponent is out of melee range you can still be hit. You misjudged that a lot, especially against Reisen. Also, using Iku's 22c as oki isn't a great idea against characters with a decent graze attack.

That's what I do a lot after a blocked B or j.2C. It's almost impossible to hit a crouching Youmu with it right? Once you hit with the first j.6A you can loop into the corner, but if you fail it you die.

Be careful with wakeup crossups, and your Marisa does a bit too much unsafe stuff like 6[A] and 6A (if you do the latter, be sure to cancel it into 214 or 623 once in a while). Beyond that, Alice is tough to play, so I have respect for anyone trying to main her.

"The 7 Laws"

1. Corner Assaults shall only last 10 seconds from the collision of the wall.

2. A single move cannot be used more than 5 times in a row.

3. A match that lasts more than 10 minutes is decided and given to the person with the most health.

4. No more than 3 of the same card may be permitted in a single deck.

5 If a person doesn't show up for a match within 10 minutes, they forfeit that match.

6. A match without a spectator and replay does NOT count. (if this is an issue for you, just make sure that the AutoReplay option is checked before the official match starts.)

7. A Judges decision is final.

NOTE: These 7 Laws are only applicable toward the three SU exclusive events (above) and have no effect on regulare matches. Failure to comply to these simple seven rules will risk termination of your groups' existance.

I noticed you had Light Sign 'Luminous Strike'. That's a pretty good spellcard. At worst, you can use it after a blocked dial-A for chip damage, at best, it'll crush an orb and deal a fair amount of damage.

Don't bother with Perversion 'Sure-Fire Master Spark'. It's pretty much impossible to combo into unless you predict a CH 66C correctly. Otherwise, barring your opponent falling asleep, it'll never hit. Consider using Magicannon 'Final Spark' instead--it combos off dial-A (on hit), plus can be used after a successful 3[A] crush. Speaking of which, you should consider using 3[A] in your Marisa strings (albeit sparingly). It's much safer than 6[A] and also a lot faster thus harder to block on reaction.

dpad might be worse than a keyboard... afaik a lot of people use controllers for the analog stick, since you can just kind of rotate it in certain ways without having to be all that precise to pull off 623s/etc.

to use ps2 controller on pc you need an adapter to convert it to usb i believe, don't quote me on that though. plenty of info on google to be found

I had to check up on that statement of yours, DS3 feeling different to DS2. Well, there actually are some differences! The body finish on the DS3 is mat, so it offers less friction to your hands. The L/R2 buttons or push sensetive, but who gives a damn? The analog sticks are a tine little bit smaller, maybe 0,5mm smaller radius? Most importantly, even the analog sticks offer less friction than the DS2 controller. Even more importantly, there's no such thing as a pinku Sixaxis/DS3 controller! FFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Anyway, D-pad is the only way for me too, somehow the analog stick points upwards when I wanna go right. Mastering that 623/421 would be a hassle anyway, and 22, double dashes...

My keyboard is a brick, I would surely break the house!
