Summary of the compass news stream from earlier today, starting off with the non-hero stuff.

The next ranked season is anniversary themed and runs from the 8th to the 18th. Tadaomi will be getting a new crimbo costume for the reward.
Some new hero-themed cards were also spotted at the venue, so they should be coming to the silver ticket pool sometime soon.
From now until the 31st January, you can purchase 50 days of Prime for just 1BM (paid).
From now until the 31st December, co-op portal key capture missions return and will reward up to two 128GB data chips upon completion.
Some guaranteed UR (100 paid BM) gachas are/will also be available - looks like there will be one for each rank you reach up to S1.

A new unranked event arena is being introduced that will replace the current 2v2 mode - this will cycle between various different rulesets (e.g R decks only, attackers and defenders only, 2v2). The current mode has a selection of maps that are flipped and in black and white - not sure how long each rotation will last for.

There is a new animation project in the works - no details as to the format. Is it another bunch of shorts? A longer OVA? A sign of EoS? Preview: >>41949435

Moving on to heroes:

The winner of the hero design contest is some bird - should be added some time in late 2023.

The first original hero of 2023 will be Blaze Dragon from Marcos' set of cards. It's a big dragon - that's all we know so far.

As for the original hero that was teased earlier in the balance notes, he is Al Dahab-al-Katia and he has joined the game today as the latest sprinter with a focus on poison.
His hero action is a sprint/dash attack - the dash attack deals weak damage, however it applies poison to the enemy hit.
His hero ability heals him for every tick of poison damage that he deals (it looks like it heals for twice the damage dealt)
His hero skill is very quick to activate and has him charge forward in a fixed area, dealing damage and applying a poison effect. Enemies caught in the centre will receive an intensely damaging poison.
A login bonus along with a 6x rate up hero gacha are available for him until the 14th.

Available on the 19th, the next collaboration is with Railgun where Misaka and Accelerator will be added as an attacker and a gunner respectively.
Misaka's hero action let's her charge up a stun with the radius increasing the longer you charge it.
Her hero ability makes her deal extra damage to stunned targets + stun cards have an extended duration
Her hero skill is her railgun that fires over a very long range - enemies caught in the middle will be instantly killed, enemies caught on the edge will be stunned.
She also has more normal attack range than your typical attacker

Accelerator's hero action has him leap forward over an increasing distance, attacking a wide radius when he lands. This deals average damage and staggers enemies - enemies with a shield will have it broken, be knocked down and receive increased damage.
His hero ability deflects status effects back onto the caster with a halved effect and at the expense of his own hero skill gauge (not sure if this doesn't work if his gauge is empty).
His hero skill creates a vortex in front of him that kills anyone who touches the centre - the strength of the vortex looks similar to Gilgamesh's HS.

Along with these two will be new cards (not shown AFAIK) and costumes for Stellea, Matoi, Alice, Lovey, Blanche and Voidoll. Everyone will get one free event ticket when the collab starts.

I feel like there definitely have been some, but I can't really think of any major changes off the top of my head - Akutagawa's hero skill now punches through shields, so you'll need a counter if you want to tank it. Monokuma's minikuma (that drops on death) also breaks shields.

In terms of new heroes and trends to watch out for:
Make sure you keep a mental note of Rimuru's hero ability (immune to status effects) so that you don't waste any debuff cards on him.
Alice is a pain in the ass - do NOT put yourself between her and a wall
Ainz is a pain in the ass - be prepared for 90% of enemy Ainz players to have two shields and a counter
Rinne is a pain in the ass - always try and remember where he throws his many traps down
Bugdoll is a pain in the ass - try and hide behind your teammates so they get hit instead of you
Stellea isn't as annoying anymore - the silence is strong but she moves like a sloth
Be prepared for 99% of Lovey players to have 3 AoE cards, at least two of them being piercing ones

You're currently going to run into Al players in most matches given that he just released, so I would make sure that you've got some low cooldown heals/heal over time cards because you are going to spend a lot of time poisoned.
