Her ability just stems from an era where characters had extremely vague abilities that sound completely broken on paper, but even in Perfect Cherry Blossom, it's made clear that stuff like the Great Hakurei Barrier is beyond Yukari's own abilities. She's mostly very good at making people think she's impossibly clever, young, and powerful. Also, she doesn't really stand anything to gain from putting herself on the forefront of everything. She mostly just wants to keep Gensokyo going without upsetting the balance.

It's pretty likely that the whole "eat an immortal to become an immortal" is really just a pervasive myth, without any real backing to it. Not everything the characters believe in the story needs to be true.
Mokou probably got herself eaten a couple times during that period where she was utterly lethargic, but we never hear anything about animals or youkai turned Hourai immortals, so there doesn't seem to have been any instances of anyone actually getting the immortality directly from another Hourai immortal.

Or we could just have the oldest form of gambling, which totally works with the era system and everyone's favourite, RNG Dice Rolling. Almost like danmaku battles, except peaceful and both sides roll 3 dice, with the 2hu being the 'Dealer'. (You) win by first announcing whether you'll roll higher or lower than their number, and then it starts with the Dealer rolling first followed by (You). If we want it to be more dramatic, could make the roll order instead be Dealer -> (You) -> Dealer, rolling one dice at a time until 3 rolls from each side.

As for prizes, could be the usual money prize, where the amount of money won or lost is determined by the 2hu themselves (Reimu, for example, would always result in low payouts to either side while Remilia would be the 'high rollers club' style. Or maybe you could bet underwear - if you win and receive panties this way, they are tagged with a special flag that makes them unable to be stolen and used as blackmail against you if someone checks on you, since you 'won them fair and square'. But if you're holding pilfered panties at the same time, those pilfered ones still get stolen and turned into blackmail material - only the gambling-won panties stay on hand. Then we get to the lewder side. The strip gambling game, where both (You) and the 2hu take off a clothing article for the rest of the day per loss. Losing means (You) or them are naked for the rest of the day, where winning means (You) or they 'reset'. Or maybe just gain back one piece of clothing back? Or be able to choose whether they're betting to regain one piece of clothing or have you take off one on a win if someone is missing something. And then there's the gambling for sex, where it's a best of 4. If (You) win, then you can push them down without them getting any anger/hate marks from it (though they can still get them if you then decide to hurt them or choose to penetrate raw on a dangerous day without lubrication), but if they win, they will push you down instead and (You) will be 'at their mercy' until they're satisfied and you're not allowed to go 'it's not over yet' and push them back down right after (as normally allowed). If draw, then nothing happens, or perhaps the 2hu's Sexual Frustration goes up a bit and if (You) have a dick, (You) reach the 'dick wants release' state without Thick Semen status (seeing as (You) do not have Sexual Frustration). Play the Gathering of Heroes scenario, the one where rulers are randomly chosen and everyone starts with 1 city. That slows down the speed in which factions eventually snowballing enough to roll over everyone, especially since coalitions will occur more often. Turn on Generic Officers if the going feels too slow - everyone will hire enough Generic Officers (one per turn) to reach a minimum threshold of at least 5 or 6 officers. I'm assuming for your planned game, you'd have Special Factions turned off, or at least all at low power.

As to keep yourself from being 'execute on sight' due to hate, you could just simply turn those options off, I suppose. But if you want them to stay on, either lower the difficulty if you can (Hard and up makes everyone hate you and your faction every turn), or just simply be an OP character. If you're too OP, sometimes if you're not presented with the choice 'join us' option when your faction falls and you get caught, they go 'since you're so strong they really want you' and throw you into the prison instead. Or does this only happen if you refuse their 'join us' offer? Not too sure; though they can still choose to execute you instead if you refuse.

Else, though it goes against your officer game, is just to be a Wanderer for as long as possible and just talk to the other Wanderers while they're unemployed and seduce them that way if you can, before going to Visit Nations to establish new contacts.

I see that eraRL has finally showed up on the git, so went to try it out. I certainly didn't expect it to have numpad movement, including diagonal movement, after having played eraMegaten so much (which only allowed horizontal and vertical movement).

The only thing I don't get so far is how to get party members. I assume you have to capture and train them (as like many similar era games), but the only hint I can see about this is that you can 'capture' enemies while trying to escape (leave dungeon). I assume at a low chance, you 'accidentally' teleport them out with you back in town, so they're now captured? Otherwise there seems to be no penalty for 'dying', you just 'get exhausted' and return to town. You have to manually 'surrender and give up' with enemies nearby to get 'captured' yourself.

It was only started to get translated a week or so ago, so not much. Not that there is much content; if you're looking for something with the scale of eraMegaten's content, you'll be left wanting. It borrows a fair bit of content from Elona (or at least that's the most familiar 'dungeon crawler' to me), but no real traveling or anything. Almost like if you crossed Mystery Dungeon with Elona? You start with nothing (not even a weapon) and have to get equipment from the dungeon runs. The character creation has the initial standard stuff (pick talents, abilities and experiences in context of era games), but it has a bit of customisation to it, like being able to determine how much (or no) armpit hair and pubic hair you have, even down to what nipple type you have (normal/inverted/etc.), size of your areola, and even colour. Can even set the state of your penis/vagina. They're most likely only used during training to describe things, as usual. Also features a really big list of races you can choose from (mostly determines innate stats and resistances, has flavour text like how Angels are forbidden to have physical relationships with mere mortals and would rather commit suicide to deny them if put in that situation), a good number of classes (determines how quickly your character becomes proficient with weapons, or if they're much better at magic or not via more stats), and then a choice of gods (or no god, you faithless heathen). Note that like many era games, regardless of how you headcanon your character, they're always evaluating women in terms of worth post-training, like many other era slavers.

It's not very intuitive at times and there isn't a 'Help' document you can look up to see how stuff is done, but it's Explore the Cave of Beginnings, which is a dungeon that generates random floors each time you go in, and do Quests as your level requirement meets them. You can also activate Missions in the Options which are like bonus objectives (e.g. 'exit a dungeon while having a +5 or better enchanted equipment) that give you money for fulfilling them. There's also a few other type of Missions that come up later but I haven't gotten that far yet; need to complete previous Missions up the line first. You also need to manually set on what magic you want to use, which is important if you're a Wizard/Sage (and don't plan to be a muscle Wizard/Sage), because if it's not 'equipped' you can't use that magic. You can set up to 19 different magic and all the magics are just different elemental variants of 'target', 'line' and 'ball' magic types.

You can only carry up to 19 items in your inventory, but they don't count anything you're wearing (equipped). You can't sell equipment either for money (unless I somehow missed it), so the main purpose of excess equipment as far as I know is to be kept for whenever you get party members, or to be Sacrificed to your God(dess, it sounds like they're all depicted as women) to Pray for Rewards later (kind of like in Elona).

That would depend entirely on what you mean with "implement monopoly". Do you want a fully-functional system that works just like the real-life game? That would require a large amount of skill just to wrangle the Era engine into doing what you want, and take up a huge time investment to fully realize.

If you just want to create a heavily simplified minigame, much like, say, the Danmaku minigame, where most actions are abstracted away, it would depend entirely on how complex you want to make it. You could feasibly set up a minigame where you select your strategy over a couple of turns much like the cards minigame in the casino, which you could reasonably implement without needing much programming skill.
