I liked RPGs so for western gaming what worked for my goggles was The Witcher series (lots of hetero there but some good homoeroticism too), the Dishonored games (Corvo/Daud still lives in my heart), Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding (Kojima homo is still quality), and unironically Detroit Become Human for the twink/cop route only. No goggles needed there but I'm not sure how well it has aged (probably very badly the game already sucked when it came out) might not be as enjoyable without the fandom now.

This was interesting but a bit too short. One thing I didn't get it, did they sleep together as their alter egos? Also Urushida send a letter to his ex wife to inform her of the fact and trigger her suicide? Some of the stuff about JP culture about kabuki and funeral was lost to me.

I found interesting the game doesn't' sugarcoat they are father and son, usually with incest is akin to "I love you even if", even going as far as killing their alter egos so they can fuck each other as father and son, and saying that even if they are reborn, they want to be a father/son pair again. It's definitely an incestuous love story through and through. It's also very positive in a sense, with them not feeling any guilt about the incest, but rather being into it.

The part where Urushida mentioned he loved his son much more than his wife as soon he was born was definitely a bit odd, but I suppose it goes along with their weird obsession with each other. Haruya showing up as father door asking to start a relationship was hot as hell though, though them waiting until he was twenty to fuck was odd, I guess it was to show the father still felt guilty and wanted to make sure the son was 100% on it. I found funny when the story mentioned it wasn't the son that should have kept away form the father but he should have kept around from the mother.

I was spoiled about the twist early though, so a lot of the VN felt "fillerish", even if the ending portray it as some kind of therapy from the son. I wonder how much it's obvious Natsuki was Urushida though. It has a very "Uchikoshi" like feelings in a way a lot of the narration is false, like when the father even mentioned he went as far as pretending to smoke for the sake of the plot. I definitely would have liked to spend more time with them past the revelation and know more details about their personal lives.
Lack of ero was disappointing, especially with Urushida loosening his cravat in the ending and implying they are going to go at right next (Haruya calling him お父さん was cute) and I think the father is doing the fucking but the ending CG makes it look like Haruya was topping, I guess I'm fine either way.

As for ero this circle will publish some R18 short stories seperately some time after release. Maybe they think sex scenes screw up the pacing, maybe they're just cheap, I dunno. I think the ones for this game fill in the gaps for the two implied sex scenes in the story, I haven't read them yet though.

I see. I remember the Haru mentioning the letter to his dad was one line, so I wasn't sure I read it well.

I was spoiled but I think the Natsuki's not even having a pic on the official site kinda gives it away, and him being so over-presented and the fact the only characters being introduced where the father and the son makes the twist very on the nose, though I did like the "Yes, I killed her" red herring, because it felt like something that could have happened. It did felt like it spent too much time on the son's desire for a father figure for it not to end in incest kek.
Once the twist dropped though, it almost feels like the story ends so far. It feels like they could have spent more time debating about the ethics of incest maybe, since they loved arguing. Even the pic of them kissing is immediately interrupted by the mother's ghost rage. Father/Son is generally very interesting because even those who love incest typically tend to be freak out.

I was curious so I bought the PDF, but the JP used a bit too hard for me without help, but it did look a bit more unhinged, especially the second sex scene which is immediately after the game. I did like the somber, to the point atmosphere of the game, it felt very much to the fact. "Yes, we are father and son and we are going to fuck", it felt somehow chill with how normal it was.

Pretty neat thing in Star Ocean 2 & 3 (no idea about the newer ones since I didn't play those) was the [hidden in the 2nd game) affection mechanic so you can pair the characters with each other to achieve their romance or friendship endings. Get their affection high enough and a character will become berserk when their paired partner dies. There's also an affection mechanic in Tales of Symphonia, Innocence and Xillia 2.

The thing with these games are that if you look at it in a different way, the friendship between the MC or his rival/s have much more depth than their love interests which make their pairings viable and dynamic.

Repetitiveness and the very basic combat system were the worst offenders in Tierkreis, although my main gripe was actually how often the game enforced specific party compositions on you for story reasons. There are so many cool characters with really fun combat gimmicks that you could only try when you were just randomly exploring the map, because the main quest and side-quests would force you to replace them.

There is no explanation, it's part of the "bizarre" theme of the route. I think it exists to make you question reality, if Kaoru can see his illusions doesn't that mean he's not real too? How much of what is show in the end is real? Kaoru definitely has some sort of ethereal existence to him, almost like if he's a youkai.
Even in the SS Tama wonder if Kaoru is actually real. (Of course with the extra material we know he is real). Hashihime's last route is kinda of a flop in term of themes, both it and Hanazawa's route felt like the author has certain ideas but she she couldn't quite put into the work. At least Hanazawa's SS fixes some issue but the route is wash.

Also remember both Tama and the Shopkeeper can trap other people in their illusions, route 1,2 and 5 both have illusions battles.
