Me and my friends started playing Mahjong recently and i've got a question. When someone declares a Kan(kong)
he/she makes a four-of-a-kind exposing it to the players. a new dora is flipped, and the player who declared the kan draws another tile from the dead wall. but if i count right the player has 15 tiles now. Basicly a player has 13, when he/she makes a kan, he takes another tile(now she/he has 14 tiles) and then draw another one from the dead wall( 15 tiles).
He/she discards one but then he/she will have 14 tiles...How come you have will not have 13 tiles? Or did we misunderstood? Would someone be so kind to explain.

When you pon, chi or kan using another player's tile, you place all of them to the side.
One of them will be turned by 90° so you can tell from which player the tile is from. Left = left, middle = the one in front of you, right = right.

Wish I could have been a little more focused, but 7AM games are pretty brutal after staying up all night; my concentration definitely wasn't in top shape.
