Hey /jp/

New to the touhou games and I was told to come here for advice. Been playing perfect cherry blossum but it's not going too well. I really enjoy it but I suck. Got any tips for a noob ? Also when I get the game over screen that tells my score, continues used, bombs used etc what does slowdown mean ?

Anyway at the moment the biggest block for me is Cirno. Any tips for that bitch ? Playing on easy btw. Yes go ahead and laugh.

I see right through you mister troll, I call bullshit, nobody can be so bad they couldn't kill the first midboss on easy.

Okay fuck it, I can 1cc the gaem on hard atm, but I do really want to know what the slowdown percentage is all about.

Actually what does 1cc mean ? Is it finishing on one life or one continue ?

the goal is NOT running into the bullets.

Too obvious.

OK, my best piece of advice is: Manipulate the bullets instead of them manipulating you. You'll notice that some shots are in preset patterns, while others are aimed. By positioning your sprite in strategic places and giving yourself room to maneuver and dodge, you'll become a better player.

Other tips:
-Don't look at your sprite, look a little bit ahead of it to see what's coming and move accordingly. Eventually, you'll memorize how fast your girl moves and how long you need to press the keys to move a certain distance
-It's OK to look at replays and videos to see tricks and solutions. Just don't rely on them.
-Learn to use the bomb as a panic button. Deathbombing is pretty darn hard except in Imperishable Night. Usually, when you hear the death sound, it's already too late. Try to die with ZERO bombs left.

Is Hisouten getting a patch any of these days?

1'cc means beating the game not using continues. Slow down percentage is the time you are under the optimum 60 fps. If it's too high you are regarded as having played the game under easier conditions.
Look at the touhouwiki for more information.

Ah okay. My slowdown is normally around 0.28%

What's considered easy conditions for slowdown ?

As with all things, train more.

A heck of a lot more than that IIRC, so you're safe.

Runs at 5% or higher slowdown rate are no longer considered valid when submitting to various score tables.

>> No.4146549

>>4146504
That's hard to say, it's mainly a subjective barriere set out by certain boards to judge your highscore and replays as acceptable or not
0.28 is in the error of the natural frame fluctuation. Personally, I'd think 2% onwards is something to be thought about, you'd notice that the game doesn't flow well too.
