After a certain number of turns pass, the story does it for you and timeskips you to where you've conquered everything but like that very last territory of the Demon Army.

If you can't do it the normal way, just survive long enough for that, and then come back on New Game + with all the bonuses and enjoy it.

You need more attacking power. Monsters die like flies. You have two units in the back row that do nothing but sponge up damage and don't dish any out.

In my first game, I didn't break the fifth gourd until like turn 65, and the Demon Army didn't appear until the turn after I conquered the last territory, except for Shimazu and the Youkai.
Then, since I already had 0 points, I wiped them out and stalled Ishijijii while I dicked around and got stronger

If it's your first run, it's not uncommon to end with 0 points, you get 15 just by completing the game, then just start a new game and go down the Ran route, or Kill the Monkey for points.

No love for Rizuna here? Her A Cutter does insane damage against the monster units. Also Maria's continuous tulip shot can punch out one of those fuckers who do the magic attacks against all six of your units in one hit, and Magic's white destruction ray is very useful for that as well, especially as it ignores defending units.

Her basic damage is quite small and monsters usually have quite he high troopcount.
Though it's useful if you have her and Kentarou Demon, they are perfect for monster battles.

Ever since i got Kentarou i didn't use him at all, and never did his quests to increase his level either, since i preferred dungeons or other things to spend my action fans on.

But now i got to the part where he must duel that demon, otherwise it's game over. And the fucker always leaves her with ~40 HP.
I normally do 3 regular attacks and a 4th big attack (he's got 4 action points). I tried loading an earlier save and got his level up, but an hour later after i got to the duel again, THE FUCKING DEMON HAD HER LEVEL ADJUSTED AS WELL.

I also tried acquiring Attack +1 Books by searching the towns you get right before the duel, but apparently you only get Defense and Int books in the first 2 searches (and i have to keep a third Fan to increase his affection level for a +1 attack).

Can i get past this, or am i fucked?

ok some tips

1. if you're going to let people go, let them go in intervals of 5, no more, no less, ie let five go, exit prison, re-enter prison, let another 5 go

this is because letting out atleast 5 prisoners will get you a level up item, this can be done multiple times so long as you have let go atleast 5 per "visit".

2. all units have a use, however, in my experience, monks you can live without.
strategists are actually useful, and buffs are a godsend, as having a strategist pre-buffs your units as you enter battle.

3.miko storm is pretty much useless against armies <1000, miko storm 2 is extremely good.
if you have diviners, its better to just use advanced shikigami right off the bat, because odds are you'll only be able to pull off 1 attack with it (or normal shikigami, and all guard the following turn, as sometimes the diviner will have a turn right after using shikigami)

honestly, once you get good enough you can have a unique commander only army, which is by far stronger than having generics.

The thing about backrow footmen is that they can't do jack shit other than defending. That's great for protecting important units and all, but it WILL kill your battle rating, which is actually far more important. Fuuka's only good for the SAT increase and the Orochi objective anyway, so the time spent protecting her is time wasted on not attacking the enemy.

Run dungeons or level up with affection bonus. Then recruit Masamune's 3 living wives and get all 3 to trust, then do a purple event in Oshu called "Ask about Masamune" or something. After this, go take down the last castle.

So how does this work? The first time I played Kenshin's route, I did very poorly, I concentrated on beating it rather than getting points, so I only got five for beating the route. I decided to go back after a couple of routes and other house bonuses to kick it's ass for points. I managed to beat the game on turn 53 with 10 generals with end game points and one character clear. (Should be worth 5 for beating route, 7 points left from the 60 and 22 from generals, totaling 34 points) But when I checked the new game bonuses screen, my points stayed where they were when I started the game. I am confused.

this is how its calculated

every character clear (can only obtain 1 per character, regardless of how many times you clear the character in repeat routes) + finished routes + bonuses + best score of play.

so lets say you cleared Kentarou 3 times in 3 different play throughs, thats only +1 to your score, and if you finished kenshin route 5 times, thats still only + X to your score (for completing it once) then the bonuses, which is like orochi (again, can only be awarded once), then highest score of play is basically if you finish the game 5 times, the one you finished with the highest base score (which is difficulty score - turns - some other crap + some other crap) will be added.
