Or the time I forgot a bag when I was on the train? I simply called up the police and told them I was missing it and what it was (2 books and a magazine) and not 10 minutes later they called back and told me I could either pick it up at this specific kouban or they could send it to me for free.

Now let's move onto the general population. First of all, if you think the general population is ugly, you must live in an area I've never been to. Sure there are ugly Japanese women, but no worse of a ration to ugly women in other countries. I've visited tons of countries, and they ALL have their share of ugly women. So that's a moot point.

Some people might complain about how cold they are towards foreigners there. How about before you go there and start yelling at them for not understanding your English, you try to learn their language and culture. Remember, you're in a foreign country, not them. YOU have to conform.

I say these things because I did go there. I had no strong opinions one way or the other beforehand. Since I can only assume that you've been there too (you wouldn't be speaking so confidently if you weren't so informed, right?) I'm sure you would agree that there is definitely more of an emphasis on gender roles and fashion over there than in the States.
