Like guy mentioned, you need to forward your ports. To your router, your computer currently has the address 192.168.1.100 and is invisible to the internet. Your router can be seen by anyone on the internet and has the IP 99.237.86.169:10800. To let your computer communicate with the greater internet, you need to forward the messages received at port 10800 on your router to your computer. If you don't the router doesn't know which computer in your house to send the packets to and thus can't host.

>> No.4123097

>>4123068
Look here for info on forwarding ports:
http://portforward.com/routers.htm

Also, about hamachi, from SWR Wiki:
>Use at your own risk. Most experienced players strongly dislike Hamachi because its routing methods when direct connections are not possible adds substantial lag.
That might not be a problem with your friends, but when playing with people from further away, the lag could be very notable. I've never used hamachi with SWR though so I wouldn't know.

As an oki it's sorta subpar, and I prefer using the Scarlet Inch Crush, a cross-over j.2A, or even just a 5C as my wake-up games. It was rather good at pegging people shooting projectiles across the screen, though. The default 623 I found to be pretty good, but I'm just not good at using it, so I ended up sticking with my Sky Dragon Kick crutch and using Scarlet Inch Crush as my 623 to surprise people in corners.

This might be way too tourneyfag for /jp/, but I figure why not. The primary use of stompwave is to set up a strong approach string. Normally China can't put projectiles on the field which force action past midrange. Stompwave changes that.
5[C] 22B hjc9 D6 (j.5A) for example.
5[C] is big, walls off projectiles, and lingers midway. 22B is slow, dense, and creeps along the ground. This puts the enemy in a weird position:
If enemy blocks stompwave they are vulnerable to your aerial melee coming in. If the enemy grazes stompwave they are moving towards 5[C], if they try to graze that you aerial melee them. Then finally if the enemy jumps forward they're moving towards 5[C] and staring down China's strong air to air melee. If they jump back you've closed distance which is 80% of the battle for China.
Then there's 22C which is just a fast poke you can hide behind 5[C] (I hit you with it once or twice like that, remember?)

Don't get me wrong, I definitely see your point, and I think it can be strong in the right hands. It's just that for some reason I can't make it work quite as well. Those are interesting techniques (I saw them during our matches), so I know them in theory, but I'm not entirely confident that I can use it well enough in the games to make it worth choosing over the Sky Dragon Kick. I've probably pegged more people with random SDKs than I've used Tremor Wave to set up good, strong pressure.

In all honesty, I think the problem mainly rests with me and my inability to perform 100% with Meiling without the SDK. That setup for the 22B seems strong, but if they just hj8 and shoot down or if they're using Suika or Youmu (who, in my experience, seem to have a stronger air game) they won't be afraid at all to either j.6A if they're Suika or peg you with a j.5A if they're Youmu, forcing you to chickenblock instead of actually maintaining pressure. In that case, you're pretty much back to neutral, with maybe the offensive advantage going back their way instead of yours.

I love discussing this stuff, so I hope I'm not boring anyone.

I was just trying to explain one of the only if not the only ways around China's designed weaknesses. She's designed so you can't use 5C/5[C] and 6C/6[C] in the same chains for a reason. So the trick is finding a different way to set up point defense while attacking simultaneously.

I can see the Tremor Wave being strong (I was finally getting the hang of it a bit), but for some reason it just doesn't feel the same when I'm not using SDK. Thanks for the games, though, they were fun as always!

>>4129154
I definitely agree, though I personally don't think that reliance on SDK is the main thing keeping me from being a better playing. It feels like I'm missing something much more basic.

Your Meiling suddenly became hard to approach. I want to use 66C more since you usually throw out a C bullet when I try to rush in but I know that if I whiff it I'll end up eating some huge combo from you.

Man, that just slipped my mind, even though it was really funny. I notice that you love messing around with the fish, and you'll usually try to do things in such a way that will get us both hit by it. So, I was thinking to myself, "what happens when we get a double KO when we both have 1 win?" I was sorta disappointed that it wasn't some sort of SUDDEN DEATH or special effect thing, though. ;_;

Another thing I noticed was that your wake-up DPs and psychic knowledge of when I was going to jump or fire a 5C/j.5C was really killing.

I don't suppose there any IRC tourney/combo/timing gods lurking here, are there? I'm trying to come up with a decent corner combo that isn't listed on the wiki, but I'm having a really hard time getting this timing down. It goes like this:

5AAA -> 5B -> 5C hjc9 -> j.5A -> j.2A (two hits) land j.7 (technically j.9 from the way you land) -> j.5A

There are two major problems I've encountered:

1.) The j.5A after the re-jump is incredibly difficult to land. I landed it maybe 3 times out of 30 or so tries.
2.) I can't follow the j.5A up with j.6A or j.2A, and I'm not sure why.

Pic is how it looks after the j.5A at the end hits and nothing else does.

>> No.4129839

>>4129823
Oops, ignore the j.9 part; that's just me being stupid. It's j.7.

>> No.4129920

>>4129823
Yeah, getting that last j.5A hit in seems pretty random, much like Alice and Komachi's 5AAAA 6A often whiffing the last hit.

Not sure why you can't follow up since I don't really understand the SWR/12.3 system. If it was like IaMP, it could be that the juggle bar ran out so no more followups are possible.

Hmmm...alright, thanks for the input. The only reason I was trying to get this combo down is because it works after you land a j.5A, whereas the 5AAA -> 2B -> 5[C] hj8 -> j.5A -> j.6A -> j.5B doesn't. Maybe there really is some sort of hidden juggle bar that won't allow anything to happen after the j.7 j.5A, though? (I've never played IaMP, so I don't know the mechanics, really...)

Yeah, I couldn't find any way to improve on your combo idea. Tried to add a j.5B after j.5A, but it didn't connect either. I was going to suggest just doing 5AAA 5B 5C hjc9 j.5A j.2A (1 hit) 5C for 2546 damage (as opposed to 2501 if you whiff the j.5A at the end of your combo), but a quick check of the SWR Wiki shows that there are other improvements, like 5AAA 5B 5C hjc9 j.5A j.2A (2 hits) 623B for 2.8k and blue border. You might as well just stick with the dial-A 22B/C instead of confusing yourself trying to squeeze every last drop of damage out you can get.

I know, alice has nothing, and youmu is quite straightforward. The problem against both is actually escaping unharmed.

Indeed. I know it as well, but hard to land without the fear of being pummelled right away. Primary goal at the moment is learning how to escape if my evasion skills has betrayed me. Then, learning how to pressure, how to crush, how to maim and tear them to pieces... learning from netplay is more than enough for me! I'm bleeding, making me the victor!

... But no really, your powerlevel has increased so much since the last time I saw you, I have no idea why I thought this was a good idea in the first place.
On top of that, I'm still having trouble believing it's you at all after seeing you use Sakuya, because Guy knows relying on projectiles is a waste.

>I'll hopefully see you around here more.
Nope. I'm uninstalling this crap; maybe I'll go play PC BlazBlue when it comes out and be terrible at that too. That ~2.5 gig space on my HD would be fairly beneficial in the future and playing toohoo fightan really doesn't seem to be my thing anymore to begin with.

GGs and all though, hope you have fun beating up the scrubs of /jp/ in the future.
Goodbye, my love ;_;

Awww, that's a shame. Maybe I'll pick up PC BlazBlue sometime though I'd really wish they'd release an up-to-date Guilty Gear for the PC ;_;

I still have a ways to go in the realms of Touhou fightan, but playing everyone on /jp/ is still fun. I wouldn't trade this community for the world.

I did. I traded it for the IRC tourneyfags and regret it more than you know. What a terrible place.

Who knows, maybe I'll change my mind and get a new profile name, switch around some mains, etc etc, and start a new life without anybody ever knowing. That sounds pretty peaceful.

But there's also the alternative that's starting to seem slightly more fun where I ditch fightan games forever, buy some brass knuckles, and go outside playing REAL fightan. I dunno, I'll just go where the wind takes me.
That is, if you replace 'wind' with 'internet.' Something along those lines.

Oh God, what in the world justifies China having a 5.5k Dial-A to spellcard combo on the second half of my health bar? I was not expecting that KO... Not at all. Speaking of unexpected KOs, in that last match I wanted to use the skill card I had in my hand, but I shuffled one too many times and pillared you instead for the KO. I'm not gonna complain, but I so didn't earn that. I've got to stop meeting you in the air, but canceling my projectiles early is just too damned tempting. Couldn't figure out what was more helpful against my China though, ridiculous dense fireball that you can't cancel out or fire-sword to counter your dashes and Lightning DPs for your jump-ins. Maybe I need to make another deck... GGs as always Guy. Starting to rage halfway through each of our games, but that's just because I expect more from myself.

I wouldn't be too hard on yourself, your Patchy was getting really irritating for me. If you could just block the crushes and staggered melee more consistently, you'd be stealing matches from me. You land your aerial melee with her very consistently, and it's almost always a 1.6k-ish combo, which isn't bad at all. It seems like you have her anywhere BnB down solid, too, which is another 2.3k-ish damage when you land it.

I don't know what to tell you about the sword, though. I can say that I WILL graze into it a few times, but if I see that you have it I'll probably start avoiding it eventually, leaving you with a move that doesn't do too much, instead of her deliciously damaging fireball. Emerald City is pretty good at stopping my jump-ins too, though; anonymous used it against me to great effect.

GGs. It looks like you just need to learn what spellcards and skills of other characters do and you'll be able to beat me easily - you already know how to do Iku's combos pretty well. You could try using her 6C a little more, and occasionally try a charged 3A instead of a non-charged one - you can get a few guard crushes that way.

I'd like to keep playing but I have to get ready for work.
