Am I missing something? That website has been dead for over 3 years. The only /jp/-like spinoff that had a decent sized community was pooslmer or whatever it was called.

More like 7 years. I recall going there and it was just one two aspies bumping 3 year old threads for whatever reason. I'm glad it's gone. They shouldn't have removed the projects textboard. That was the only thing the website had going for it.

> why do people stop posting on places like /bun/?
The founders of the internet assumed there would be an abundance of communities, but humans are wired to go to whatever is most convient for them, so natural monopolies were created. Despite there being millions of websites, the average human only goes to 20 of them on a weekly basis if even that.

>What is the alternative?
Good luck getting these elitist cunts to give up their super secret community. Not recruiting fresh blood to your community is precisely the reason they die over time.

>> No.41143409

So many chans fail because they try too hard to be like 4chan. They don't have any features that stand out. And a lot of them make the cardinal sin of creating too much boards. When 4chan was first created it only had a tiny amount of boards and it added new boards as the community grew. Every 4chan clone should start off with a /b/ board that acts as a catch all for topics. This way the few amount of users you have are concentrated into a single board instead of being stretched too thin. No matter how much people deny this we all want (yous) when we make a posts and we're not willing to wait a week to get a response.

>> No.41149246

best imageboards don't have chan in their names.

>> No.41151921

>>41143333
They really aren't hard to find. Just a little initiative and thought gets you there. I don't think any sites are really elitist, but nobody wants a bunch of retards that post before even reading the rules. Better to die than be killed.

if you are too lazy to do research on history of the board you are posting on (which is fully documented) and can't find the tens of spinoffs that broke off then why do you even want to go to them? is it not enough for you to ruin this board?

Pooshlmer wasn't a spinoff. It existed well before the /a/ split happened. If anything, /jp/ is the spinoff that outlived the original.
