Not him, but manga (and even moreso doujinshi) is simultaneously worthless yet irreplacable if it makes sense. You can get doujinshi for as cheap as 100 yen from Mandarake for example. At Comiket usually new releases are 1000 yen and 500 yen for previously released works (depends on the circle obviously).

But Mandarake being a 2nd hand doujinship shop depending on the condition sell used doujinshi for between 100 yen and 400 yen.

Oh yeah, figurines are absolutely not cheap, and replacing them is almost impossible if they came out a few years ago.

Also, new manga volumes are roughly 700 yen.

Maybe the cost to import them is expensive, but the manga volumes themselves aren't.

And since this is a Vocaloid thread it should be mentioned that new doujin albums usually go for 2000 yen each if they're a new release at a doujin market, 1000 yen if it's the same circle but previously released. Non-doujin albums (ie. Exit Tunes or P who made it big like DECO*27 or Honey works) are usually 4000 yen.

Eyes are probably hardest for me. They always look weird when I look at them up close and have to zoom back every now and then to see if they actually look as bad as I think. This is the same for me. My peers who were really into the vocaloid scene in the late 2000s/early 2010s essentially lost all interest by the time 2018 rolled around, which is a little sad to me. Outside of this thread, I don't really talk about vocaloid related stuff with anyone - which is why it moved me a little when my best friend bought me the steam release of Project DIVA Mega Mix+ the day it came out as a random gift because he knew I was still a fan of vocaloid stuffs in general. The songs that were included and spruced up on the 2011 album 'THE VOCALOID produced by Yamaha' slingshots me back to that 2008-2012 time so effortlessly every time I listen to it. Even today if I'm ever feeling a bit down, that album typically reminds me of past good times, and all the anime conventions I used to go to around then.

The main thing I criticised was the vtumor aspect of the post, but that might not have come through as clearly as I thought. At the time I didn't even know that the linked friend simulator channel was a producer. I opened the tab, saw vtumor, got filled with assburger rage so I immediatly closed the tab.
