Just finished the true ending of Ciel in TsukiRemake and I'm coping here but this VN does not hit the same spot as the OG Tsuki. I tried reading A Story for the Evening from Kagetsu Tohya today but was rather bored and only read it until the scene when the room got darker and Akiha was talking about how she was friends with the School government leader in secret. I will try reading the rest tomorrow or the day after. From what it seems that story is rather popular here compared to the other Nights of Dream scenes. It's been an ongoing issue on other boards. I'll be semi vague because mentioning this is pretty much an instaban by the mods.

There was a userscript extension that let you embed files into images. After a point the mods caught on and started aggressively preventing embedded images from being uploaded. The userscript was later modified to only contain embedded catbox links (a imagehost service), but people who posted that version of the embedder still got banned. Skip to a few months, now there's a version of the script that directly encodes files into the image, and is pretty much undetectable. Various bots have been spamming on other boards with proxies using the new version of the embedder, hence why the captcha now has a cloudflare browser check if you've noticed.

The old versions of the script only embedded catbox links into images. You can open an image as a .txt and CTRL+F for a link to see if it's embedded. Catbox moderates their uploads and you can't put viruses. The current issue is with the new versions of the script that are encoded in the image. If everything I've heard so far is true, then yeah you could theoretically encode malicious code instead of just images. But it's not possible to execute it so it's pointless.

If you're paranoid about it I would just delete everything you've saved in the past week or so. The shitposting proxy brigade seems to have started in the past 3 or so days.

Try to get into the habit of saving the source of images, or looking up the image hash on archives to see if it's been posted before. A lot of shit that gets reposted on 4chan is terribly compressed most of the time since people unironically download images from places like Twitter nowadays.
