And this is an extremely simplified view, if you look at sexual reproduction, the genes that a father (and mother) give a child are highly randomized by meiosis and crossing over. And this is ignoring the fact that the human species (really, ANY species) can endure a very high amount of inbreeding. The stereotype is that interbreeding will result in a high number of retard babies. The simple truth is that a.) this will only occur after a LARGE number of successive inbreeding generations; and b.) the odds of a deleterious genetic default rise from a non-inbreeding couple from 1/10,000 (example) to something like 1/4,000, Significantly higher, but still remote and highly dependent on the couple's genetic makeup, rather than the fact that they're inbreeding.
