I don't see any difference when I activate it, other than I get a little damage instead of dodging completely.

i do i install. i mounted the cd and i see the files but i get the error can not read game file.

You can run the game off the "CD", there is no need to install. I'm pretty sure the requirements to run it is the same for VNs, the basic stuff like having Jap Lang installed and change the non-unicode stuff to jp as well.

About the game, I played it a bit. Some sort of Touhou Advance Wars? Seems decent, but I think Maristice takes the cake for the best Touhou game of C77.

It's called "Focus mode" or "Slow mode"
Characters in focus mode have a lower chance of the enemy hitting the character, but the character's movement is virtually halfed and the character will often graze the enemy's attack every time the character attempts to dodge, taking a little bit of damage.

Also, they ignore those whack yellow fields, allowing you to move FASTER than if you were trying to speed through.

Damn, no wonder I failed to reach Sakuya on the 1st try, all my units were moving too slow and I never figured why. So ideally, you want to avoid those yellow fields unless necessary and use focus mode on units with crappy evade and defense?

What I did was use the other characters to down the fairies and FOEs in the middle and use Marisa to bum rush Sakuya using her movement boost seishin. Then I had to wait for Sakuya's card to time out since I couldn't move in and hit her after she started it.

I can't play this at all, none of the keyboard inputs do anything but F4 and esc.

Protip guys: You can use a controller.

That's the equivalent of "Hold shift for focus movement". It moves your character slower, but whenever the enemy try to hit you, you will graze it thus dealing minimal damage (If the attack hits you). Best use when fighting boss unit.

BTW, If you want to change the controls, go to システム when selecting the map

SRW @Gaiden with Touhou characters. Fun SRPG and a proven battle system with difficulty you can set yourself. One of the best C77 games...kinda sad since it's a trial.

This is going to be good when it's finished. Possibly as good or better than Battle Moon Wars.

That part i know. But maybe my luck is just that bad to get hit all the time with 40% enemy accuracy... It never happened in any SRW i played.

Usualy when that happened, I just let my unit attack and ignore the 40%. I missed more than i hit. But when i played this, I hit more than missed on 40%. Then again my luck may have been bad...

Do you have a game pad plugged in, if it is, then that's the problem as you can't have a game pad and a keyboard plugged in at the same time. The game will use the game pad.
If it's not plugged in or you don't have one, however, you might be missing a file called "gsw01tr.cfg". Try reinstalling and apply all the patches before you try playing it again.
