how well can you understand anime without subs? how well can you read without yomichan? decide which level to take after figuring that out. if you can understand precure and ojamajo doremi without subs (including jap ones), you can probably at least pass n3.
that's how it is generally. also make sure you've gotten a good sleep before taking jlpt. i went to my n2 test basically half-asleep. still passed, but i could've gotten a higher score if i was more awake.

I'm enjoying working through anime/manga and constantly looking stuff up, mining, learning. But its exhausting, a 20 min anime episode takes upwards of 90 minutes. Manga averages around 12 minutes per page depending on how much text.

So there always comes a point where I'm spent and don't have it in my to do anymore for the day. But I still wanna keep watching/reading. Is there a way I can rest/take it easy the rest of the day, while still immersing and maintaining some productivity?

the way な and い adjectives are explained seems weird to me. I think I understand it well enough but I don't get why they say い adjectives end in い whereas な adjectives merely have you place な after the adjectives. couldn't it be said that な adjectives end in な just like how い adjectives end in い? or that い adjectives have you place い after adjectives just like how な have you place な after adjectives? as in, you seem to do the same thing in both situations so why so they say い is part of the adjective but な isn't?

The way I view it is that I'm spending more time in english now to spend more time in japanese later. That one speech bubble or line of subs might have 3-4 lookups and take a while and be mostly english, but if I get 1-3 good mining cards out of it, that is gains for days.
