It's a synonym. basically, it can be read either way. Wait until you get to combining kanji and hiragana and realize that most kanjis can be read multiple ways. I actually find it easier to remember those kanji, since I am thinking "this is the one with two readings while on its own/with this same pairing" and that helps it stick out.

Watching with english subs? Realistically very little/none especially at the beginner level or tons of people would have japanese fluency without even trying. Watching raw or with japanese subs? Pretty good but suboptimal for beginners. Reading is a much better way of immersion since you can go at your own pace and look up what you don't know. I recommend looking at the moe guide to set up yomichan/textractor etc and get some vn recommendations. Although if you're just starting a core deck I would recommend spending your time doing more cards per day on anki until you get a few hundred words before you start trying to read.

Immersing (whether it's reading manga/vns, watching anime, etc) will always help - in fact it's really the most effective (some would say only) way to actually learn. It's just my opinion that if someone's just starting out it's more effective for them to spend that time learning ~50+ words a day on anki for a week or two before immersing. My logic is if you're looking more or less every single word up even in the most basic texts you're probably going to get fatigued and just skim what you're looking up and have it go in one ear and out the other.

If you don't know the standard computer font yet, you would probably be better off not doing all of them. You'll probably be reading mostly similar fonts for everything. Plus, I'd liken it to reading English; if you come across some shitty Japanese handwriting you can't really study to read that lol. Help me out with this one:

Of course, I understand what it means. The problem is, what is the exact meaning of 取り戻す in passive form? Is it "to be taken back" or "to have something taken back (from you)"?
If it was "姿が取り戻される", I'd understand it's "It's a bit too early for your original form to be taken back by you."
But お前 has に and 姿 has を. There's no が, which means "I", the guy speaking should be the subject.
So, if 取り戻される means "to have something taken back from you", the sentence should literally mean "It's a bit too early for me to have (your) original form taken back (from me) by you."
How does it work?

I'm in my first week of Anki, and my favorite vocab (other than just plain hiragana words) are when there is kanji that I can remember just because I can make a story out of it.

For example:
息
Looks like someone wearing a facemask. And since they may be sick, they are icky. And icky is very close to the reading, so it helps a lot.

現象
The second kanji reminds me of 3D glasses at a movie theater, and what do you see at a theater? A show. And that sounds pretty similar to the reading of the second kanji portion. As for the first kanji, it doesn't have anything so easy, but it being next to 象 and the bottom right portion reminding me of ん is way more than enough for me to figure out how it sounds.

車椅子
The first kanji is one I remember just because I remember the word after figuring out the rest. 椅 looks kind of like a woman standing on a table with a mouse underneath. And the plural of mouse is mice, and that's what 椅子 sounds like. And once I remember that, I instantly remember the first part.

While it sounds like a lot to think about, it only takes maybe 5 seconds to remember. I'm really liking these kinds of kanji, even if it wasn't ever intended to work like this. I'm actually having a bit of fun with this.

Writing and reading in hiragana will help loads more than just the flash cards. although, as much we don't condone the usage of it, duolingo at least can help with the kana system.
