I asked /v/ first, because it's vidya related, but they didn't respond, SOO

Do you guys know any good Moonrunes games on portable systems? Like GBA or DS, or even on a phone app? I'd like to be able to Riichi on the go.

May I please have a list of Riichi Mahjong video games that are on portable systems so that I might enjoy playing it while traveling out and about?

I did not know this existed and just downloaded it. FMVs on my GBA! only there is no video. Only shitty grainy pictures ripped from the show

Go to Frozen Roms and search for Mahjong, alot of titles.
I recommend Mahjong Fight Club for DS. By far the best portable one I have come across. I even bought the full game. If you live in Japan you can even play online. If you like Moe crap and have a PSP get Moejong もえジャン, though it's pretty poor.

>> No.4061406

I don't have any portable games to compare it to Simple DS Vol 1 is decent and I liked the multiplayer from one cartridge.

>> No.4061435

Two I know of that are reasonably good;

Mahjong Police for iPhone: http://www.apptism.com/apps/mahjong-police (Only in Japanese but available on US, EU, etc. app stores)

Moeru Mahjong Moe-Jong! for PSP: http://www.hudson.co.jp/moe-jong/

Also akagi vision telling you what is dangerous. This is pretty cool, It just looks horrible.

I'm sort of curious about psp ones if there are any.

On the iPhone? How is it? Isn't the screen a tad small?

Does the GBA Akagi allow for flagrant cheating when your opponent is a raging asshole that needs to be taken down a peg? 'cause if not, it's not the full Akagi experience.

The small screen size doesn't affect playability - dragging your finger across your files 'lifts' one out slightly and it requires a second tap to discard so it's pretty impossible to pick the wrong tile.

The game also has a story mode that I've heard is pretty good but I can't confirm that one - not being able to read Japanese I just stick to the freeplay modes.

I wasn't thinking about playability, but rather about reading the other player's tiles. It's good to know that it stops you from picking the wrong tile though.

Well, if you have an iPhone/iPod touch save that playfield image to your device and view it via photos - then you can decide for yourself if it's readable enough. :)

I'll vouch for Mahjong Police's quality. Pretty damn good, not difficult at all to navigate. All the tiles are easily readable.
