Maybe the allegory here is that Noah's Ark is used to save a select few animals from the great flood that destroys the world. Perhaps this could be analogous to how capitalism allows a select few to amass great wealth and power while the majority of people are left struggling. Just a guess.

This. And ZUN doesn’t have the best grasp on western religion.
For instance in WaHH he said Jesus was “so attached to his flesh, that he reincarnated another worldly body”
But if you’ve read the Bible, or even know the story as it actually is, it’s about denying the flesh for eternal life

ZUN didn't say that Jesus was too attached to his flesh. Kasen did.

What ZUN did say was how he imagined prophet Muhammad and Jesus Christ being in a fighting game together.

>The evil side gives rise to curses, and the good side blessings. I think that's good. This way, no matter how the chips fall, there are always both evil gods and good gods. In monotheism, God is the Creator. He created everything, so he created the demons too, right? You have to think about stuff like that. So in that sense, it's hard to use Christianity or Islam. It's not just me, right? It's all games. Pretty much only in Megaten. But it's not like you can beat up Christ or Muhammad either, right? You might as well have a fighting game with Christ vs. Muhammad. And whenever two people hit each other YHWH comes down and soothes them, like "now now..." Don't you wanna see that?

The Japanese love referencing western stuff. I assume most of ZUN's exposure to Abrahamic religions and similar is through Megaten, itself a modern Japanese version of certain broad ideas, and some of the absolute basics, though he apparently didn't know much about Taoism either prior to TD. Even then he's not a religious scholar and doesn't particularly explore these ideas in-depth which can lead to strange statements (Futo's omake claims that Buddhism was promulgated because it was easier to keep the populace in check with than Taoism but saying that 'any one of the people could become hermits if they underwent ascetic training' is fairly optimistic).
As for Kasen, she would probably be more responsive to a docetist explanation anyway.

He doesn't even understand capitalism. The goal is always more customers = more profits. You can't have growth with a declining population. This is why China is so powerful economically, huge population.

>The goal is always more customers = more profits.
Not necessarily wrong but a simplistic way of looking at it. It's less about having more consumers and more about shoving most of the populace into ghettos so they can pay taxes. They do this partly through community destabilization by introducing foreign immigrants.

Sometimes he uses them to ramble about hyper capitalistic society, I guess it's a bit passable since it is sci-fi and you can detach it from current day nonsense.
I'm waiting for the day when Sumireko rants about game piracy in the next CoLA chapter, then it's proof he's mind broken.
