The first manga is basically just more F/HA. It's a bit funny seeing the tone of the franchise change as TM changed in realtime. The HF movies making Rider vs Saber more of a spectacle was a good thing, since it was overshadowed really badly by Sparks Liner High in the VN. The fights on day 10 being made more dramatic was a good thing too, as it just felt like a minor skirmish in the VN, adding to the tedium of the next few days. Lancer vs True Assassin was the only truly embarrassing fight.
