Well since you seem genuine, the genuine answer is that your starting deck doesn't matter much at all. You can go with whatever deck and card format you prefer and end up with roughly the same level of skill as someone completing a different deck.

Can listening ever become as intuitive as it is for my native language? I tried googling this and the answers kinda didn't help. But I am 25. Definitely past the whole "critical language acquisition" period. I've been studying a while and I am almost done with MNN 2. I absorb grammar points like crazy and have no trouble understanding something when reading them usually as long as I take my time. But when it comes to listening I absolutely suck. I'm okay with very very basic sentences. But if it come to a grammar point that I've only known for a month or so, it's like my brain doesn't even register it. I am getting better though. But yeah me venting isn't really the point of this post. I am just wondering if it's possible to get to the point where I understand everything without actively listening. Like how in english I can hear something and not really be paying attention, and I still pretty much understand what was said. How do I reach that level of listening comprehension? Or is it even possible at my age? I know I can still get better from here, I just wanna know how much better it's possible to get

Is it possible to achieve N5 fluency solely on completing MNN?
I'm 18M and I started studying Japanese at 14 but for a very short period of time. I didn't even memorize all Hiragana and Katakana characters at the time but eventually I've gotten familiar with some of them because I listen to a lot of Japanese music.

I started studying Hiragana and Katakana for about 2 days ago nonstop and now I memorized their stroke order and all of them as well. I haven't bought MNN yet but I'm going to study basic grammar now with Tae Kim's Guide to Japanese (hope this helps).

I plan to study for about 7 hours a day. Do you think if I complete MNN I'll be able to speak like a Japanese 1st grader?

I don't have a tutor yet also because it's very expensive and my parents cannot afford at the moment. English is my second language and Japanese will become my third.

Honestly I just want to be able to make basic sentences and learn essential stuff/basic grammar but I want to go even further and become Intermediate/N3 by next Spring. Is it also possible?

I did Core 2k and started reading at around 1800 words. Starting at 1500 would have definitely been doable, but I tried at 1000 and it felt too intimidating for me at the time so I was reluctant to try again until I was almost done with the deck

core2k is the first 2000 cards of core6k. why? because premade decks are boring and rapidly decline in "efficiency"
core2.3k is some various fixes to core6k like fonts, duplicates, etc and slimmed down to 1970 cards by removing uncommon words, it's then reordered from most frequent to least frequent

there's an entire collection of almost 400 different book series called kadokawa tsubasa bunko that are similarly price and range in difficulty from intermediate elementary up to middle school. some are based on well-known anime and video games. you could probably find something you would be interested in if not kirby. i was able to get through kirby without resorting to google translate but i still learned new vocabulary and grammar.

i went with bookwalker because they accept paypal and it's like 90% cheaper than importing actual books.
