If beta testing and post beta bug fixing go really smoothly, then Rance IX could release this year. I have a lot of doubts about the latter though. Hopefully, Rance 03 happens to be far along in translation and editing, but I don't think Mangagamer will mention the progress percentage of either of its newly announced titles for at least a month or so.

The one who does most of translation work on SciADV is (sadly) MAGES. themselves. They were always the ones who hired translators. Though it seems like Steiner is working on Anonymous;Code so I have a bit hope for that one.
As for the other thing, Nitroplus didn't do much work when it came to SciADV. Chaos;Head was soloed by 5pb. writer Hayashi Naotaka and the technical part was done by N+. Rest of the games were developed internally at 5pb. Games and N+ did just some minor roles (Suzuha route in Steins;Gate and mecha designs in Robotics;Notes). After that they stopped working on SciADV.

Correct
>NN, JAST
At least JAST is starting to announce things when they're actually close to release these past few years and we're not waiting 8 fucking years for a single nukige (sweet home) only for it to be released buggy as fuck.
NN are a wildcard on whether they'll release something in a timely manner or take years like they're doing with the Fureraba vita CGs and Melty Moment.

But yes, you should only care about titles that are close to being released or ones that actually have a trustable release date/release window. You're just setting yourself up for disappointment and frustration otherwise, take it from me, a Sona-Nyl fag.

I knew Tokyo Necro and Gore Screaming Show were big deals, but I didn't realize how big until recently.
To put it in perspective, the first official announcement of Full Metal Daemon Muramasa, another long-awaited title, has 1200 likes on Twitter nearly a year after being posted, while Gore Screaming Show got 1400 likes and Tokyo Necro got 2200 likes within a few days.
Here's my prediction that may or may not be considered a hot take (and I accurately predicted that both of these games would be announced at Anime Expo so I'm decent at guessing lol):
Tokyo Necro and Gore Screaming Show will outsell Muramasa and become JAST's best selling games so far.

That comparison is very biased. The Muramasa announcement wasn't as big because it was somewhat leaked and there was rumors and even memes about it for years . Jast themselves teased it for a few days.
TN and especially GSS announcement were much less expected.

Muramasa is NOT JAST's top selling game. They specifically said it was their "best launch on their store", which doesn't mean much. Muramasa did not sell on the same level as their top sellers on steam, it's probably nowhere close. I doubt it's even that close to their top seller on their website with Saya no Uta being there for 10+ years.

In my opinion, JAST stopped being as slow as molasses about the time Sekai's backlog started piling up and complaints about SP being slow started to become more noteworthy. JAST is still slow but slow in a way that makes them comparable to Mangagamer or Nekonyan. At least JAST stopped announcing release dates and delaying them at the last second in the past few years or so, and they've been managing a release every two months or so for a while now.
On a side note, I wonder if Nekonyan is able to speed up to accomodate their larger backlog.

>> No.40422290

Out of their current backlog, only 2 titles are almost certain to release this year (Kenzen 2 and Railore) out of the 6 they would need to maintain a monthly release. Rance IX is likely to release this year, but it being a gameplay title makes it hard to be certain, and Sona-nyl has been in dev hell for so long that it's hard to predict any sort of date. MG has been silent on Higurashi progress, so it's impossible to say when the last 3 chapters of Hou will be done, but they probably won't be done this year since the Rei chapters recently released. Maybe Lkyt is already almost done and could release this year. Even if that's the case for Lkyt, I doubt Rance 03 is in the same boat.

Why removing mosaics from h-scenes in eroge is a bad and problematic practice?
First, because mosaics are a part of japanese culture, japanese values and japanese morale, so demanding mosaic removal means you're being japanophobic and a cultural colonization apologist.
That's why you aren't allowed to impose your american culture and americanized anti-censorship-politically-charged propaganda upon Japanese-origin piece of fiction aka visual novel. Hence why eroge needs to keep mosaic.
Second, if you can't get off to h-scenes with genitals covered by mosaic, then you might be a genital fetishist. And genital fetishism means transphobia. That's right, you wouldn't date a non-op trans person just because of the wrong(in your opinion) set of genitals(for example gay dude with a vagina), because all you care about is genitals. Which is why demanding no mosaic is like branding yourself a transophobe and a bigot.
Not even going to forget about retaining the original Japanese experience, most of the people want to preserve so much. Experience is simply not the same anymore. One of meta jokes in Totono english version was ruined by unmosaic, ruined so much JAST had to change one text line completely for the sake of uncensored art, turning it into a literal fan fiction. You shouldn't even vote on vndb for totono if you read english version. You have no moral right to do so. It just evokes the same emotional response from me when I see people thoughtlessly engaging in art.
Muramasa unmosaic english edition? Ruined. The whole game is coomerfied, because kageaki sausage dick takes your attention from plot away, making important bits of philosophy and characterization combined with themes to fly over unmosaiced edition reader head. While Japanese people read version with mosaic, they are never distracted by the gross and unnatural kageaki sausage.
Kimaten? Mosaic is gone, but Anne nipples are also gone in sekai unmosaiced english edition.
Clover day's? Uncensoring alone kept game away from release for the past few years. Is it really worth it? Ruined. No one cares about clover day's anymore. Hype is long dead.
Musicus? Muramasa issue all over again. Ruined.
Subahibi? Muramasa issue yet again. Ruined. The reader's head is literally full of uncensored dicks instead of Wittgenstein philosophy. Unmosaiced readers don't even get "end sky II" ending because of unmosaic, because of lack of blood in their head, because all the blood went to their lower head instead.
Majikoi? Ruined, ruined and ruined. Half of the voices are missing for the sake of official uncensoring, while fan uncens existed for years. Worse translation, lacking it's very soul.
Dead end aegis? Muramsa issue. Ruined.
You should never ever vote on vndb for uncensored version of said Eroge. To be fair, just english version with mosaic patched back into game is fine in my opinion.

I think as long as they have the AS partnership they will do well. They have a lot of solid gameplay licenses that are untranslated. The only issue is MG has currently is they do not have much dark fetish stuff outside of Maggot Baits a few years back and they kind of have nothing interesting for Steam that would be a great 30 hour long title that would be standalone. I do think you are right about them being able to do well without Rance as those titles can easily extend them for the decade. But if the whole AS deciding to self publish is true still even with the Evenicle 2 debacle then that will make me question AS as a whole. It also means MG may have to find new partnerships for Gameplay style VN's even if they are small. As for Mugen Renkan it does seem good for a title and I will put it on my list to check out honestly.

I've heard so many variations on the Eushully story that I'm sure the truth will never be fully known. The alternative to this story I've seen shared is that Eushully reps at ck only gave a gaijin "strange looks" when he approached their booth and wanted to buy something, whatever that could mean. I'm sure every localizer in the scene has tried to convince them at some point, and I believe I'd seen a since deleted discord message from someone in the scene that claimed Eushully said they weren't interested when contacted- you'd think if it was purely gaijin hate they'd just ignore you, but who knows?

Yeah, regardless of the actual reason, it's obvious Eushully doesn't have any interest in the overseas market. The success of the Venus Blood series makes it pretty obvious that if Eushully brought over some of their notable titles and the localization wasn't overly botched, they would almost certainly profit. Maybe the Venus Blood titles are only doing well because of kickstarter though. The MG published Alicesoft games have all done well (by the standards of MG), but Alicesoft has been pretty silent on whether or not its self-published titles are actually selling well. It feels weird how all 5 of the JAST USA announcements could come out this year. I expect Gears of Dragoon and Tokyo Hero Project to be stalled until next year, but 3/5 coming out the same year isn't bad at all with the other two probably coming out at 2023 at the latest. Mangagamer is similar with its 2022 announcements with most of them probably releasing by 2023 at the latest (with one of them already being released) though something could stall Rance 03 like how Rance Quest, Evenicle, and Rance IX were all stalled one way or another (Rance 01 wasn't stalled all that much IIRC).
