Whelp, think I've 100%'ed choudoku now.
Overall, I enjoyed it. It has a really good selection of ends, I was basically expecting variations on yandere confinement rape for the bad ones but actually there's not really much rape in it at all, at least on screen. It's fucked up in a different way, which I appreciated. Also I always like it in VNs where the protagonist can become a very different person depending on the route.
I was fond of most of the guys, except for Mizuhito. I don't know why but I just didn't like his dynamic with Yuriko at all. I think I just have an instinctual dislike of playboys.
Hideo was cute. His bad end was one of my favorites, seeing such a pure relationship end up rotting into something like that made me way too happy. I liked Majima as well but I sort of wish there was an end where they got together after confronting the truth (not necessarily a happy end). I guess I can just make fanfiction in my head that they met again after the detective end or that Yuriko manages to win him over eventually in the end where she joins the smuggling ring. Though I like that ending in itself, that strong, obviously incestuous, but never actually extending to sex bond has it's own charm.
Also this Majima CG haunts my dreams. I assume it's supposed to be innuendo, but there's no jokes about it in the text of the scene it illustrates at all which makes it all the more bizarre.

It's pretty short, like 2 hours, mostly linear with one choice at the end to pick the ending.
MC is an OL who keeps blacking out and waking up in the middle of sex with random guys. It turns out she's got DID and has developed a slutty alternate personality, and once you collect all the bad ends it's revealed this is because her older brother (blood related) raped her and it formed as a result of the trauma. Of course you get a rape scene with him in the true end (while one of her other lovers is tied to a chair and forced to watch).
I'm not sure I'd recommend it, it's pretty abrupt and there's no real ending or resolution to the story. Maybe if you're really craving a yandere rapist oniichan. But then if you've read the spoilers, there's not much else to it, it's not like it's executed in an especially interesting way.

Cage focus is a pretty boring concept for a whole route almost by design, specially when paired with the implausible plot armour they're always imbued with and the boring passive heroines that really help make it an absolute nothingride.

It's very good in the music, story, and character writing areas. I like listening to its theme song. However the voices sound tinny and fast somewhat. The art can be a hit or miss. The font is squished and pixilated so you might have a hard time reading it. Gameplay can be repetitive. The story makes up for it especially when you unlock the final character with the most entertaining route which takes on a different path for the MC. You can tap on the guys tokimemo style to lewd on them a bit too during the game, and the unlocked gallery mode will also have more lines from them. It's worth completing for all the routes.

The artwork was the main thing keeping me away but it should be easy enough to get used to. Writing is always the main thing in VNs anyway, so it's good to hear it's worthwhile. Gosh. I struggled with the font of that game and that also made me drop Fushigi Yuugi combined with its garish UI with my eyesight as it is. Wisp’s art is pretty, but it was taking me a long while to parse through the text so I stopped after playing the fun minigames.

Kurayami otoh surprised me. I only played it because of its gorgeous cover art and interesting premise as an otome escape game, but I like how well they wrote it. It can get cheesy at times, and it’s a plus point for the young high school characters forced to work together because of a threatening unseen antagonist. I hope you have fun with it too.

Will o' Wisp has PSP and PS2 versions, too, if you're still interested. They're probably more readable. I went for the DS one because I carried it around more at the time but ended up dropping it before even making it to Koyasu's character's route which was the whole reason I was playing in the first place. Maybe I should pick that back up, too, just to see what the route is like. I'm always getting conned into playing things just for one specific VA.
That kind of plot already requires an industrial dose of suspension of disbelief so cheesiness really is a complete non-issue. If anything I prefer it to something that takes itself dead serious.

The graphics look mediocre even for a switch game and it has performance issues here and there. DL is still very popular, they haven't stopped making dramacds. Since otomate is paying, they will probably make more games as well. It's fun, you can be both a mesobuta and a Cordelia Stacy. 1 is shit, many dropped it after 1 or 2, but the more the story progresses, it gets better.
