How do I prevent Ano's game from raising my potentials to 400% in every skill all the time?
I already limit myself to a sleeping bag and avoid all sources of potential on top of never eating herbs and not having learned Traveling. Exp formula is reversed and training days are disabled as well, and yet 1.90.4 was much slower and small accomplishments were more gratifying.

To be fair Guard Break, unlike chain attack and SP burn for attacking, tends to benefit you and your pets more than it benefits your enemies (unless you get ambushed by an Old Bell or something) since it's a serious debuff to any enemy beefy enough to survive fighting you for several rounds, and it can't be resisted unlike hexes or attack spells that aren't water.

Go hunt Cupids of Love, they rarely drop Happy Beds which besides being the highest quality bed type to sleep on are as you'd expect really expensive and will raise your home value by a lot. You can get to Rank 1 with Happy Beds alone, provided your house is a small castle or palace.

I have been running around aimlessly for a few days now, i don't know how its posible but i feel like im against mid game level enemies but with early game power level and equipment

At first i was grinding for platinum to get skills, then for regular money to invest in a potion shop and final get some potential potions, then bronze coins becouse trade is really slow with with a small cart, then a farm/museum/shop to get more money but im getting peanuts in returns, don't have time at all for regular stat grinding or to get better equipment, im getting ganked by dungeon bosses and rooms full or monsters since i don't have any AOE attacks and the pets are in an even worse state

tl;dr: what should i focus on first to get anywere? It seems like im running in circles

I played through it w/ the english hack and the only thing I saw untranslated/incomplete was one of the custom deities, Danalin of Water. Getting omake mods to work was awkward, though. Yeah, pretty much. Elona is generally not played with permadeath and its progression system was often compared to Oblivion back when it was released.

Depends on the variant, but for reference I just checked my latest vanilla 1.16 play-through, and it took about 100 hours, even though I was way under-leveled and cheesed the final boss with alcohol poisoning. Omake should go somewhat faster. Plus is way faster, but has a shitton of fanfiction at the end and took me about 200 hours. If you want you can use power-gaming guides to beat them much faster though.

Unlike the attacks and spells costing you stamina to use which only served to punish the player and his pets for no good reason, guard break is to your benefit like 98% of the time. Usually you'd only get Guard Broken when an Old Bell shows up and yeets a storm of coins at you, meanwhile it's very easy to Guard Break whatever you'd want Guard Broken just by hitting them with enough water spells. So any physical build that can cast water spells (or Duplicanes rods of bubble ball) literally render the PV and DV of any mob he wishes irrelevant. Mages that like to use water spells benefit too since it means said spells do full damage to their target no hexes required; if your version has Custom functionality you can teach Hydro Fang to any pet you have and have them sling it as their regular attack or just against certain problem enemies like bosses if you can program them right, and they'll pretty much never be a wasted slot as far as damage output goes.

This also means that any Living Weapon you find can be turned into a +Magic stat stick for harder-hitting spells and more MP without feeling like you'd be wasting it.

No. Stacking elemental damage is only if you're going to physically attack with the weapon, which usually means a weapon that does lots of damage to start with while putting in only cold damage so you benefit from Wet + Element Scar. With casting water spells you're stacking +Magic on the weapons instead because more Magic = your spells hit harder and you have more MP to cast with.

Note that you can equip three weapons at once (two Hands + Shoot slot, assuming you're not a Mutant or something) so that's a lot of extra Magic you can get if all three weapons are living weapons with +Magic. This applies to your pets too.

Dur, almost forgot. Hydro Fang also does Wet to targets meaning that a character with a strong weapon with cold damage only needs to apply Element Scar to the mob to deal maximum damage (not including single or double Fury) once Guard Break happens.

So the optimal setup for any character that wants to go for a physical build is to take along a bunch of pets that will spam Hydro Fang for him, letting him enjoy the Wet damage bonus for most mobs and opening up Guard Break + Element Scar + Wet for bosses and beefy mobs. As a bonus, the Hydro Fang spells will also deal maximum damage to the Guard Broken mob, and if it's strong enough to begin with will eliminate the more fragile enemies like bells for you, so a pet spamming Hydro Fang is always a straight-up DPS increase unless you're relying on Fire element damage.

Just realized telling your pet to wait in town resets their hunger meter, that means you can stand next to bartender and infinitely feed your pet which seems like great way of increasing their stats with occasional breaks to restore their potential.

That entirely depends of the difficulty of the quest and whether or not you have pets and Ensemble.

When Ensemble is used half of the Performer skill that each and every one of your pets have is added to your roll, which is why everyone says to use it in Party Time quests. If you're not willing to have pets around or engineer Performer into them then you're stuck with your own Perform plus whatever instrument you bring.

The good news is you can grind Perform whenever there's NPCs around. Towns work, as do your own shop and museum if you have them.

Lich or Eulderna Thief that uses ranged weapons. Liches get bonuses to their evasion and armor that helps them survive the early game and their 140 Mana gives them a strong Barrier to survive the late game with, and Eulderna gets free Magic Resistance that helps them shake off hexes and reduces all elemental damage they take.

Thief's class ability that guarantees a crit when striking from stealth guarantees the attack will hit, which is a godsend considering how evasive enemies are in this game, and that one crit will be all you need if your weapon is string enough. Fresh new PCs should stick with Grenades though, since the invoke will do a lot of damage in an AoE.

For anyone having a problem where Elona hangs on load or has a crash/closes instantly, (Custom and Custom-GX in my case but it happened with every version I tried), this is how I fixed it.

>Follow build instructions from https://github.com/Ruin0x11/ElonaPlusCustom-GX, clone the repo get the sdk etc
>when you press F5 to compile and run, you should get a divide by zero error in screen.hsp
>open screen.hsp, go to line 87, and replace "inf_mesfont" with "1". This will fix the divide by zero error, not sure if it causes other errors later on but the game will now run
>make an executable and replace your original one

My guess is this was some kind of engine/OS bug where it's getting an incorrect value for inf_mesfont and that results in a divisor of zero which stops the game from running.

Mobile is its own beast. A lot of its core is the same, and there's (obviously) monetization, ignoring that and focusing on just the game itself, there's a good bit that's different.
For starters, there's a lot more quests. A LOT, both in terms of the main story (which is still mostly the same) and each town having its own series of side quests and quest chains, all for accessing different dungeons, npc shops (like gwen becoming a fishmonger for whatever reason and even having her own quest where she gets kidnapped and you go to rescue her)
It also has a lot of its own new features and quality of life changes for the game, and yet also features it lacks from even classic.
There's a minimap, and quest log that can be used to easily find dungeons on the world map or npcs in town, yet you cannot re-enter randomized dungeons should you leave them for any reason, and gathering nodes only spawn in randomized dungeons. (in the beta, you couldn't even gather from such nodes if your relevant skill level was insufficient)
You can refresh shopkeeper inventories immediately (only a few times per day unless you're willing to shell out currency) yet there's no buyback option for anything you sell to them.
Preaching/Performance is substantially less painful to level as you can mouseover to check the level of any nearby npcs to see if you can get away with praying/playing for them, yet Preaching doesn't count for party time quests at all and there's no faith based equivalent for the job boards. I could go on and on but it may be worthwhile just playing it yourself to see what's different.
Arguably I'd say the worst part is how lacking character customization is. It's all skins with no real ability to mix and match heads and bodies for the PC. The only real decoration outside of skins you can give your character is hats, wings and weapons. At least the prostitutes look nicer as bunnies.

There are 90 small medals in North Tyris that can be obtained without combat (including two that need a rod of teleport). My L3 lich necromancer bought and equipped the <Clothworld> and <Shield Tonfa> and now has 249/123 DV/PV.
Additionally, the cat zombies from Lumiest Graveyard have been fairly helpful.
