Because Type VII have the fastest diving time I guess. The bigger you make a submarine the slower it is to dive. Some of the later subtypes of type IX subs had slower dive times compared to other German subs. Basically, you can't. The specifics of branching rules and the like get figured out as the event goes on so if it isn't on the wiki yet it may not be known. Since you are on EZ modo it should be fairly low, a recon seaplane and one or two radars ought to do the trick. You can check your current LoS on your viewer like the other anon said

You should have one DD equipped with the ASW combo (sonar, DC, DC projector) to nuke the submarine at the boss node, otherwise all your DDs will be sitting ducks at yasen if it survives (if you roll a red T, for example). Also, that setup on your Kongou isn't helpful at all. Even if her AACI triggers she'll useless in day battle and yasen. Give her the normal artillery spotting setup. Finally, you want to use the dong formation at the boss. It keeps your three top ships ASW damage at max, and your three bottom ships surface combat capabilities at 100%, so It's the best of both worlds
