The fight is very well animated and can carry a lot of hype, it is fun to watch.
The problem is that after the first few times, it just becomes… itself.
There’s a lot of colors, a lot of movement and wild destruction, but it just becomes same-y, there isn’t enough in the fight for it to become something you appreciate, especially after watching it more than once, it’s just the bombastic moment without much hype by the plot, and loses appeal.

Alright, I just finished reading (probably the fastest I've read a chapter, but REALLY didn't want to get spoiled this time). And I just have to say, I kinda love this chapter. Of course, we'll see once the recency bias wears off, and I've had to reread the whole thing one or two more times in the near future for the sake of summaries and the Rayshift TL.

The general premise is quite good, and lends itself well to a chapter of "greater scale". Fortunately, the chapter itself is also quite long (10k lines, so about half of LB6, or same length as Atlantis), which even with the bigger cast, lets them avoid having to rush through chapters. That said, the pacing is quite fast throughout the whole thing, but not in the sense that it feels off or bad, and for the most part it stays consistent, mostly avoiding "slumps" á la Olympus. One thing that I feel really helps with this is the fact that most of the comedy stuff feels pretty well done, and I say this as someone who usually hates FGO's event-style comedy bullshit.

As for the characters, I'll start off by saying that bless Higashide (who obviously wrote this) for excluding Mashu (for the most part). It's really refreshing not to have her glued to us, but more importantly, she's effectively replaced with Kadoc, who is SUCH a good character here. Rather than just parroting what we say (or vice versa) he acts as a proper contrast to Gudao, and to an extent even acting as mentor, which gives his presence more validation, in my opinion. In addition to this, he still very much is his own character, with his own ghosts and needs. This shows really well through the usage of internal thoughts (just like in Atlantis, thank you again, Higashide) and now also with quite frequent "narration bits" where it's rather easy to tell who is narrating which part, effectively just adding to the amount of internal thoughts we are privy to. If nothing else, this is done really well, in my opinion, every time the subject of him being a Master, or having to take on a Servant comes up, as his relationship with Anastasia, while not explicitly stated for most of it, takes precedence and serves as his ghost throughout the chapter, in a sense.

Vlad is really well-used here as well. Rather than just having him be another fighty-fighty support Servant that dies in some Heroic Sacrifice (although a fakeout is there, for sure), they place him in this role of general-commander, letting him really exhibit his skills as leader himself, as well as famed warlord. This, and his interactions with the other characters, add so much more, in my opinion, than him being your vanguard Servant could ever have.

In general though, I liked most of the rest of the cast, at least to the point where there wasn't anyone I necessarily disliked, although Roland came close by virtue of being the Bart-character of this chapter for most of it, which is unfortunate. I think the best part here really was that most of the cast are treated respectfully, get a good amount of screentime, and have their own little arcs. This even extends to characters I 100% expected to be totally trash, like Salome. Some of the disappearances near the end (Quixote, Brad, Joan) felt a bit sudden, or more like there could have been even more for them to give, but they had already given a lot of good up til that point, so I wasn't exactly mad at this either.

And speaking of, the themes of this chapter (living as a "fantasy", finding meaning in death, righting the "wrongs" of ones own history, etc) are so well-integrated into the story at large. They really permeate most of the big scenes and character arcs, and as a result most of the endings to these arcs sort of get a little bonus of just feeling like "yeah this is how they perfectly tie into the theme", and then being over.

As for the Holmes and Moriarty stuff, it was really good, honestly. For a lot of the chapter, Moriarty mostly just acts as a foil to Holmes, causing the latter to become a bit more of a "human" character. However, it's the repeated sprinkling of the hints throughout the chapter that really does it, I think. We get some hint, then are forced to reconsider, and this process is repeated for a while, until the big reveal, at which point I had the stupidest grin on my face. Although it's definitely not over and done with completely, I can't not like this being part of the chapter, much like Odin!Cu being part of LB6 (so now I just need Bluebook!Daybit to complete my bingo). This being followed up with the mention of Area 51 almost made me burst out laughing from sheer excitement. It was a great end to a chapter that had teased all of these things for quite some time, though I CANNOT BELIEVE it just ends on a cliffhanger like that.

Anyway, all in all, at the moment I'd rank this chapter very high, right around Atlantis (but with higher highs, I think), or perhaps somewhere between Atlantis and LB6 (since that one is hard to beat, obviously). I want to say that it fits into the "peak fgo writing" tier but I'll hold off on that until I've gone over it again soon.
