Indeed, it's a problem of Japan that Japanese parents inexplicably allow to continue.

Man I don't want to sit in an office for the next 40 years of my life for 40 hours a week and be left with no time or energy to do anything for myself. If I don't somehow become rich through a stroke of luck I will probably just off myself, especially now that the future is only looking grimmer.

Wholly agreed. But afaik to live completely without working you basically just have to be rich now. It'd be very cool to be able to live off of creative work that's entirely your own to me, but this is basically everyone's fantasy and is very difficult to attain these days even if you specialize into it and also work your ass off.
