I just finished Saya no Uta. Are there any other translated games like it? Can we get a discussion going?

>> No.3973937

>Can we get a discussion going?

Not likely, discussed at least a dozen times. It was sort of true to Lovecraft though, unlike Demonbane.

>Are there any other translated games like it?

Don't think so.

No, there are no more translations.
Did you like Saya?

I did enjoy it quite a bit. My favorite ending was probably the one where Fuminori and Saya get killed, and Kouji goes insane.

I prefer the original English comic.

They butchered the story when they made it a visual novel.

God DAMN, you know NOTHING of western comics.

This is what manga and anime does to people - they lose sight of the truth.

Why don't you reach out to the truth?

I wish I had that SnU mediocre copypasta.

>> No.3977229

Saya no Uta really doesn't deserve the hype it gets from /jp/. Like the kopipe says, it was "really, really average," at best. It's nothing special; I believe the only reason why it got so many attention and praise from /jp/ was because of all the successive failed translation efforts that hyped the whole thing up. What you desire most is the stuff you can't get, etc.

It managed to set up an intriguing environment and it looked like it the plot was going to be really good. I mean, it had the potential to be one hell of a story, right? Well, then they fucked up by turning it into a completely boring, bland and repetitive VN. I found myself mindlessly clicking away, wondering "Is this going to be over already, I'm so tired of hearing Fuminori whine." Which is amazing, considering how short the whole thing is. That was NOT supposed to happen.

Also, Saya is a disgusting character and I wanted to murder the monster badly through the whole thing, so I never "felt" for the character, like most people claim they do. That may have something to do with it.

It's neither good or bad. Personally I didn't feel anything from this game. It was nice since it was something new to read, but looking back it didn't leave a lasting impression. I'm not a big fan on horror novels but this game had a neat spin. Did it do anything cool with the spin? Not really, and in the end the only satisfying ending was the insane one.

You aren't even working for nitro+. Take it easy and learn to accept other people opinions when your favourite games aren't like by everyone.
