Why is it that 99% of VNs start with retarded-high BGM levels by default? I'm not the only one experiencing this, right? Nearly every game I ever play, I have to lower the BGM down to even hear the voices (if applicable). Just seems so strange for this to be as prevalent as it is. Of course, most games let you change individual sound levels, so that mostly resolves it, but still, what is the deal with this phenomenon?

What I specifically hate with all of my hard is that 80% of the volume slider changes 20% of the actual volume, leaving you with ~20 pixels of volume bar to change the remaining 80% of the volume.
