If you're asking about the server itself it's /jp/'s multiplayer GTASA server where we try varying degrees of silly things and Touhou-related stuff. Usually on weekends, but it fleetingly comes and goes.

You need both MTA and an actual copy of GTASA. Any variation of SA works whether it be pirated or the Steam version. Even the old CD works if you happen to have it. You'll want to use one of the 1.0 downgraders if the version you have isn't at it by default also. Some anons did upload a couple of 1.0 SA downloads in past threads if you care to surf the archive, but otherwise you've plenty of options.

Connection info and a pre-download are generally posted shortly before the server is hosted.

I really wish that the server would start a few hours later, or a few hours earlier compared to the current time. It would be 4 AM for me when the server will start. Either staying up all night, or waking up really early at 4 AM - both variants are bad. Joining after a few hours after the start is not that good either. It feels like you have missed a lot of fun.

This has been brought up before, but as the other anon said it can't really be helped. There's so many people in such different time zones that either way someone is always going to get the short end of the stick.

I was going to wait until after the run to say this, but I would like to start hosting this more frequently again. It's been a pretty rough year and I haven't really had a lot of time, but getting everything back in order again for this kind of reminded me how many cool ideas I'd been working on that I'd like to see finished. The mods that are in each resource folder are only active if the server enables and request them. The new pre-download should overwrite any that have been updated or are going be in use.


Just copy and paste this mods folder into your MTA folder. Let it overwrite everything.

For clients it won't interfere with anything, aside from taking up hard drive space. Clearing cached mods is a good idea from time to time, but you're fine if you don't. They should be under 2GENSOKYO and 3TOKYO if you wish to delete the old maps. Just be careful not to mix them up with the new maps that have brackets in the name.

When running MTA:SA under Wine, youll probably get an error saying it failed to 'validate your serial'.
You have to download and RUN the MTA:SA server as root. You need to CONNECT to the MTA server, so set it up!

At that point, you'll be able to connect to the /jp/ server. The game will probably crash.
In your install folder, you must COPY the following files from MTA to MTA/CEF:

There's too much focus on the individual gamemodes, and not on what makes GTA fun. Being able to fuck around in the open world freely, doing side missions and getting into fights with rival gangs and the cops. Whenever I've joined, I'm forced into these gamemodes where most of my time is spent looking at the spectator view.

there isnt really much to do in MTASA since its a cut down version of single player to allow MP, which it gets quite buggy if you try to revert it. Game modes help alleviate the monotony.
Free roam and taking it easy is great but after a while where most things have been done (2-3 years), its repetitive and well I just treat it as a 3D chatroom now with GTA in the background. Thats not also bad, but it being interrupted by the game modes and other stuff is ideal. The server used to be hosted 6+ hours on end every week, then every month, now it feels every quarter and I'm pretty sure its because of that nothingness to do.

I dont think you can to both of those. I kinda agree with the whole monthly/bimonthly hosting. New modes help like that car soccer/rocket league one but that looked like a bit of work for it to be played 1-2 times and for one person to be creating it! Thats why if the server was hosted every 2nd month that wouldn't be so much a issue, and only if other people can help create stuff too instead of the host doing everything, that can help with any supposed stagnation. New ideas from other people!

As for GTA IV, there was some mods floating but nowhere near as extensive as SA, so you'll have to put in tons of work to even get to the basic level.

I'm not OP but I've setup a Minecraft server since there's a high demand for it, It's still an experiment though so don't expect too much.

It's in Vanilla 1.7.10 and the world is freshly made and it also supports cracked minecraft copies, If you want a cracked version then follow these steps:

Download TLauncher on: https://tlauncher.org/en/

On the website, create your account then upload the desired skin.

Once you have an account with a name and a skin you can go ahead and install the TLauncher, After you're done with the installation click on the bottom-left corner and click on "Configure accounts" then click on "Add", type in your name and the password you used to sign up with tick on "Use skins TLauncher", Then click on "Save an account".

After you're done with setting up your account you can simply go ahead and on the bottom-middle and choose verison 1.7.10, either OptFine for more FPS or Forge for mods, Both works.

And you should be good to go.

You're free to suggest any mod that seems worthy to be in the server (2hu, japanese/weeb related mods) or anything that seems fun.

Some anon suggested Grimore of Gaia, Heat & climate, and Sakura though the heat & climate mod is a pretty complex one and adds up unnecessary stuff. And Grimore of Gaia adds more items and mobs which basically just increase the difficulty. I like the Sakura mod and I think it should definitely be added.

Yeah, it's really not a big deal. We could dig out a big dark room too, so we can get some monster spawning during the day if we really wanted.
I just don't think it'd be that useful to create something that does the work for us. It's wasted effort when we don't need that many, and the end has plenty of endermen to kill should you want to use ender pearls.

I volunteer myself to keep the server running.
The owner can allow shared ownership (the others only have permission to start it as far as I know) in aternos.
I am not a neet but I don't go out very often and I'll be staying in my house for the next few months, I can easily setup a thread watcher and start the server on demand.
The only disadvantage I see is that if I were to get the server up and running every time it is requested to do so, someone might progress a lot on their own.

Breaks are good too, the whole idea of a server being available all the time has been discussed with MTA plenty of times. Whilst I think minecraft could be an exception, since progress can be rather slow, it's much more enjoyable when we all play together. It's an addictive game.
It's a shame the host might not always be able to keep the server up, but I don't really see a need for change. Playing several hours ever couple of days is already plenty for me. I'm thankful to be able to play as much as we have.

No no, you have to launch minecraft "1.12.2 forge", it should tell you that the mods are loaded.
Also give minecraft at least two gigabytes of RAM, should be enough for playing with mods.
