I started my playthrough from the Bamboo Forest of the lost and it was pretty nice. SDM is pretty good, it's got the kitchens, gardens, and free baths, and the entire place doesn't turn into a garbage mountain if you leave it unattended for a day, just the abandoned mansion on the side. You can access the casino easily, it's got decent foraging spots, fishing, and a strong water source for regular sake. Remilia and Flandre live there, so you can get relatively easy access to their crazy good recipes.

The only thing lacking is a spot for logging, but that's not too much of a problem.

Yeah, I've noticed some inconsistencies too with what the game tells you about your stamina. You seem to blackout somewhere around the 500 or so mark no matter what you are doing, so never let it be that low. Also when you get the <needs sleeping> you not only use more stamina with actions, you will also lose it slowly over time, so even if it's merely walking around you can literally pass out by walking into a new room. It's very easy to blackout if you don't manage your waking time and your stamina properly.

It seems to work similar to turns. As long as you don't use your "turn" by doing an action or making time pass it seems it doesn't trigger the blackout. You can probably pop in an item to restore your stamina over the threshold and you would be fine. Feels kinda like an exploit.
