all 'lol SSiB' aside, I think it's nice that ZUN does whatever the fuck he wants and doesn't pander to the fanbase with it as though he has to meet our needs, it's like one day he felt like he needed to illustrate a story he come up with and got hold of someone he gets along with to do it.

He doesn't even feel the need to be consistent about his characters. He just writes them however he likes at the time, Touhou isn't some serious series, right? No wonder the fans get annoyed sometimes, but really Touhou isn't for us, it's for ZUN. He doesn't it because it's fun, not because it's his job.

3 Fairies is nice but I wish more unexpected characters would show up. I'm gonna go find the raws for 11+ so I know in advance if I should be mad at them for not doing Moriya/Chireiden chapters.

It focuses (nearly) entirely on Reimu, Marisa and the EoSD crew + Alice (and, of course, the 3 fairies).
The 4koma is more about random encounters such as Suwako and Wriggle.

That's only mainly for the first couple chapters. Later on it starts focusing on others, and when it concerns the protagonists I see more footage of Marisa than Reimu.

Either way, I don't really like when Inaba explore the minor characters. While both manga are made for comedy, Inaba is mostly for gags, and is loosely considered canon so when new characters pop up is mostly for a joke or two. The 3 fairies manga does a much better job at exploring the characters.

I was serious btw and checked the raws, guest starring in chapters 13-25 are: Cirno, Patchy, Remilia, Sakuya, Reisen, Eirin, Suika, Aya, and Yukari, with small cameos from Daiyousei (I think), Kaguya, Tewi, and 2 original youkai girls. Mystia and the 3 Moriyas occupy a few pixels in one panel each.

It's nice to see them all since the canon is so thin, but I wish he'd thrown in someone neglected as a chapter focus.
