>I thought it was important that we should let our customers know about the upcoming release of “Higurashi When They Cry”.

Primarily due to complications in the copyright, the following modifications are being made.

- Replacement of BGM in some scenes
- Removal of the Music Room
- Removal of the Mini Game
- Removal of the Staff Room

It's not like I don't get your point, but I slightly disagree for two reasons; first, I'm tempted to believe some of those removals are caused by their laziness, unless they provide us with more information. A professional company shouldn't remove some features because it's annoying to implement them in their engine.
Also, I get the feeling that if we don't show our discontent about things like this they'll do as they please. I congratulated them for the Soul Link decision because it means they really do care about their market, so they'll be sure not to do this again with other game if they see we are not pleased with this decision.

As I said I'll buy it anyway so it's not like they made me change my mind, but I'm a bit disappointed.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (episodes 1-4) Japanese soundtrack:
http://www.mediafire.com/?1zxzntzugzh

The issues are most likely caused by MangaGamer's porting to the BGI engine, which is required for their DRM. They need the DRM because some of the original developers want DRM on their localized games.
>- Replacement of BGM in some scenes
>07th Expansion nor MangaGamer.com have full rights to them, in this situation which counts as a “port”.
It sounds like the copyright issue is only because it's a port. I think that the French version was able to use the original music just fine, as it's just a localization of the original Higurashi, which already had permission to use the music. MangaGamer's Higurashi port, on the other hand, is a separate product, and they probably need to re-request permission to use the BGMs (for all other things, they just need 07th Expansion's permission, but for the BGMs, they need the individual artists' permissions).
>- Removal of the Music Room
Probably laziness because they don't want to update it after the replacement of BGM.
>- Removal of the Mini Game
Probably porting laziness. They'd have to re-code the minigame to get it to work with BGI.

You can't pre-order MangaGamer games. Wouldn't make sense anyways; why would you pre-order something if they have infinite copies in stock, and it can be downloaded instantly from the moment it's released?

If you feel like copypasting every single line into the original game, I can probably give you files containing the translated text if you want.

So I wonder if the music change will actually be an improvement? Somehow with both copies will have to do a comparison.

Is it too late to campaign IN FAVOR of Higurashi being censored.

Other people should be spared R07's depiction of a naked Satako.
