This is probably a very dumb question but I couldn't find a good answer online

I'm a beginner, I know all Kana and started doing the 2k/6k core deck + a random deck for single Kanji
How should I go about learning vocabulary? Should I have another deck just for vocabulary or the kanji from the 2k/6k core deck is enough? I know the meaning of barely 30 japanese words at the moment

Here's a little tip for immersion and studying in general. When you encounter a word you don't understand, don't reach for the dictionary right away. Try to figure out what it could mean from the context. Take a guess, and then you can check if you want to.
That way, you get used to the language faster.

I don't know Japanese yet, but I know English, and I learned it through immersion exclusively, back when I was a teenager. I remember clearly how I played all video games in English and watched YouTube videos in English, and anime with English subs, all because I literally had no choice. The translation either didn't exist at all or it was incredibly poor, but damn I was interested in all that stuff, and I actually loved the language itself, I found it fun to use all the time even when I knew jack shit. And eventually, I absorbed it like a sponge. It took years, obviously, but it worked. And I'm sure it would've been way faster if I ever bothered to crack open a grammar textbook, or tried to actively memorize stuff.
You shouldn't try to "wall off" Japanese as something you're learning. Just use it to the best of your ability. Play everything you can in Japanese, watch everything you can in Japanese. And when I say everything, I mean fucking everything. The only things you should be doing in English are those that are not available in Japanese. And I can promise that it WILL rub off on you.

japanese does not work the same as english. japanese has kanji and very different grammar. its mostly the kanji that will fuck you up without a consistent amount of reading. and that reading must be done consistently. that is why tracking hours is important. you don't stare at a light novel and magically start knowing the kanji. it's not like english. you have to put in the time doing specific things on purpose.

My native language is Russian, so English for me was quite different, albeit not as different as Japanese, obviously. But I still had that Cyrillic/Latin barrier, and the structure was completely different too. And when I was learning this stuff, I didn't have a fancy smartphone with Google Translate or anything, all I had was an actual physical dictionary. I remember the first novel I read in English was "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya", it wasn't translated yet and God damn I wanted to read it. So I took that fucking dusty dictionary and went to town. I understood 30% of the story at most, but it was an experience that I'll never forget.
Kanji is an obvious obstacle here, but to me, this doesn't feel too different from seeing a new English word for the first time. English pronunciation is so irregular that, quite often, I wouldn't even know for sure how to read the word. Still, even though it is hard, we do have the wonders of modern technology on our side, so less bitching, more reading.

As I said, we have technology on our side. I don't see kanji as an issue when I can just look it up. Eventually, you'll memorize the common ones like you memorize words, I've been practicing for a few weeks now, and I don't have any issues reading N5 kanji, which is a decent start in my opinion. Furigana makes this even easier, but it feels like a crutch. Meanwhile, Japanese grammar is actually fairly logical and simple, as far as I've seen so far, so that should not be a big problem.
Use as much Japanese as you can, and you'll see the results. Or don't, I don't really care either way. But it sounds like a solid theory because I serve as my own example of it working, so that's what I'm gonna do. And in a year's time, I'll see where it gets me.

I have a 1tb hdd that I use mostly for steam games, a 1tb SSD that I use for most stuff I "care" about (when I install it at least), and then 3 separate shitty SSDs (128gb, salvaged from various stuff) that I use for random shit.
I even had a dual boot on one of them at one point.

i think honing your art skill is very similar to japanese or any other skill for that matter--you shouldn't aim for anything less than fluency or competency, especially if you truly want to become good at it
many people say they'd be satisfied with drawing like a certain mangaka or mimicking simple styles like hidamari sketch, but even then that takes a considerable amount of skill and knowledge to look correct and be able to adapt those styles into original works
like with japanese, it all just takes a lot of practice, trial and error, and dedication

Drawabox is not a beginner course like everyone say, the 250 box/cylinder challenge are a waste of time and a good way to burn out.
Erik Olson will teach you everything you need to know about perspective and he uses rules, unlike drawabox who say to freehand everything.
A beginner can't even draw a fucking straight line with the shoulder.
Accuracy drawing will improve your dexterity drastically.
