I'm terrible at danmaku games. That said, I usually play a different character every time, hoping the bullets she uses will work better than the last time.

In 12.3, I main Reisen, but my secondary characters are Utsuho and Cirno, because fuck yeah fire and ice (I actually play Utsuho for alt melting shower kick and Cirno just to see how many times I can freeze my opponent or roll them up in a snowball)

Don't worry, there are unsurprisingly large numbers of people who suck, and even ones who are average or good with one character usually suck with a lot of characters.

I play Suika whenever I think my opponent needs a hug, using pretty much just alt 22, both 5-cards, and alt 236 jumping loli. I think I may be annoying because I usually don't play to win, but just to see how many hugs I can give the other player.

Of course, that means I can't control which deck I end up with, either, and I'm too lazy to make every deck the same/might change things around for practice purposes/etc.

Also it's been forever since I fought something that wasn't a computer.

Last time I played, I was... not terribly awful with Patchouli and Sakuya, so I guess I mained those. I could spam 22B with Remilia too.
