What kind of people have piano finals, unless you're majoring in it? The subject has never come up for me.

Regardless of majoring in it or not, usually if you take music lessons from a college you'll at least have the opportunity to play in front of other students with the same teacher or in the same program near the end of the semester. You know, just for fun and to show off what everyone's learned for that semester. I don't think you're especially graded for it, though you'd probably get a worse grade if you didn't show up.

A jury would be at the end of the year, where a panel of teachers judges your performance and writes comments that are supposed to help you figure out what you need to work on the most.
