You could try your hand at translating dialogue, there's guides currently in TW folder(in #Translation) on what to do, since I mostly played TW, not sure if it that folder exists in other games.
Another guide from threads is:
1) Download an IDE. VS Code, for example.
1a) If using VS Code, install the EraBasic addon
2) Select UTF8 encoding
3) Open the ERB files and edit them
That way you can now edit files without much trouble.
The path for files to edit is usually the ERB folder:

TW: ERB\口上・メッセージ関連\個人口上
You can also report bugs or typos when you see them.

-For a first start, Normal is a good place to start, but change it to EASY since you'll be screwing around with stuff before you understand the game to get to something something along the lines of pic related

all to your preference.

--Content Settings--
Special faction shit to No or close to No as possible.
Everything else is to preference.

--Daily Events--
IMPORTANT:
Go to Lewd and turn off Millionaire. There, saved you a few burst blood vessels.
Disable Houseboat since it's a shitshow (reputation).
Moneylender fucks you either way. Disable.
If you can't into moonrunes, disable.
Some shit like Bitch's Life is stat dependent, as is with a majority of the game's mechanics.

Anything goes. The bodyguards will show up every so often depending on the Event multipliers and max amounts so you can choose what to do with them.
Merc. Visit isn't worth it in late game. By then, you should have already worked on investing in territories and being on everyone's good side. Disable once you've cornered everyone(explained later)

To your preference. Personally, I only have Rehab Doc (again later), Outside Doc, Motivational Trainer(To remove the lazy stat after any character acquires it) and Training Together.

00Diplomacy00
Officer Demanded, you can set this to off. If you don't send it to a stronger power, they'll hate you and that's one thing you don't want to deal with.
You can turn off Money Demand as well.

00Factions00
the only ones I have active are Bandit: Suppression, Execution, Raid, Pillaging, Prisoner Release. and Succubus: Battle (If you win, 1k extra soldiers through a certain option) Influence (random on any character[female]), Sabbath (never saw this), and Festival (when faced, ignore it- more soldiers)

00Other00
You can disable Assassination Proposal and Random Rebellion on your first round. Those two you can re-enable once you've completed one run.

00Event Multipliers00
Up to 10x and max event amount of 10.
If you're ballsy, you'll set everything to 10. That's unwise though. If you set RNG on a fresh load to enabled, you're not getting the same thing twice I assume.

--Character Events--
This is where you can enable or disable interactions for certain characters. I suggest you (once at that point) disable any interactions with characters that might be hot and bothered in the events following the visiting phase.
For a free 50k (only works once per run), set everything to off, enable the multipliers to 10 and make sure the Gap Pact is enabled
Go about this as you please.

Everything else is basic game shit. Check it out, but don't change anything until you're at least halfway through. Make a save before doing or changing anything.

Now, for the game itself. You can do just about any scenario, but say you're going to do the Gensokyo War, here are some things to do if you're a beginner.

LEAVE:
Bandit on 0
Hobgoblin on 0
Tentacle to 0 (I haven't ever used it since you can gain access later in the game through some events)
Succubus (mostly harmless*) to 0

Outsider ~3 max if you're a hardass. But be warned, if you're... possessive, they will break you and cost you hours. Smash them quickly. They always spawn at the Hakurei boarder. (One thing to mention, if you haven't already read the game help- They force you to be weaker so you might want to set that to 1 to test the waters. The effect is greater with every level)

Vigilante to 0 (1 again to test the waters)
Cultist to 1 or 0

*they will fuck you up if left unchecked

About Rehab Doctor, you can break characters, or turn them to your side in a single turn if done correctly. (You need to enable the opiate option in content settings)

Go about the game as you see fit, but keep in mind that this is moreso a text-based game. It has images, but they're just portraits. Your character stats are important, and what you do will effect your character, so don't go doing things mindlessly, unless pic related. The game is strategy based, and it can take time.
You should focus on subverting others, lending treasury money in the diplomacy tab on the left on the map stage, and keeping yourself out of their cross hairs, which should be piss easy even on Normal Difficulty. Once you've done that, focus on cornering everyone into areas and keeping them barricaded with your forces.
