I think a lot of the hate came from it being a Sega game, whose reputation already hit rock bottom, as well as the very bold claim about it being true RPG they used for the first PV.
About the actual game I saw people complained about the graphic being really sub par, the setting is more or less take a bunch of popular franchise (Attack on Titan, God Eater, Made in Abyss) then smashed them together, and the event being really annoying to clear.
They already delayed the game to fix the issues based on user feedback from beta but then again it's fucking Sega so you should take everything with a grain of salt.

It only takes two lives to level them up using prism battles. Just stick 3 of them at in the backrow and fight the strongest prism battle you can win with just 3 characters. You can also AFK at the arena for a couple of hours if you don't want to spend lives. Shouldn't take too long if you can 1 turn a 中級２ or higher.

This also happens when you stop playing during a day. Hopefully they fix this. For the boss at least you get a teleporter so if you fuck up you can warp to it from attempt 2 and onwards.
