I joined djt because of all the posts recommending that community. First thing that has to be said is that it's not an ok discord server. It should have been removed by admins long ago and i have no idea why does anyone allow it to still exist. The people there gloat that "Ja***es can't do anything" and i don't know what to do. I have tried to send reports so many times and even if they were read, nothing really changed. It appears that the server is always being remade no matter how many times i get informed that someone is supposed to read my reports and react accordingly.

To make matter worse (i don't want to give more details) i am the kind of person djt most often makes fun of. Because of that every time i tried to talk there because not every single person is like that, some of the users have harassed me, sent me gore in dms and searched for my other accounts on the internet based on me foolishly connecting discord to other accounts.

To be fair, when it comes to knowing japanese that server is really good. Active people often stream visual novels and other things that might interest other people and the reading clubs introduce interesting works to any willing participant. When i tried to get advice they were helping me but not without calling me n- and t- words first. I feel bad thinking why do people who are dedicated enough and passionate about japanese have to be so shitty people. I believe we could talk with each other normally if not for the fact they attack everyone who is different.

I assume the way they act is the reason for djt being recommended by thick-skinned people. All of the hazing as well as the quizzes and harassment directed to those who fail on them make it so that beginners often leave, and only people who are willing to stomach the atmosphere stay there and regular users accept them in turn.

The supposed quizmaster is barely active on the server and i have no idea whether he moderates that place. The moderation is non existent and the only thing they maybe care about is removing lolicon drawings some people post there every day. I don't understand why something that would be an effect of raid is a normal thing on that server.

After some time spent in that place i have enough. My anxiety has gotten worse because of how i was treated there and i don't want to go to those places anymore. If i find enough energy to continue learning japanese i will do it far away from those online communities. I want to warn everyone to not risk going there no matter what. If you're not worried about being treated awfully, don't bother because they will never change and the server is remade after every ban and discord doesn't do anything. If you're more vulnerable to internet agression avoid that place. No matter how good people there are it's not worth making yourself suffer.

TL;DR Yes, djt is so called 'elite' server but it's built on severe gatekeeping anyone who can't keep up with them and harassment for disagreeing with their consensus. It's a tragic place that makes me worry about the state of humanity especially in those times.
