Hollow Ataraxia (and Kagetsu Tohya too on that note, but that has even less of a chance now) wouldn't really work in animated format so I can see why it hasn't happened yet. Frankly I found the timeline of when Shirou and Rin start having sex in the Realta Nua/anime version of events a bit confusing - I assumed that the reason the two didn't touch each other for a month after the events of the 5th HGW was because of how badly their first time went, so it's confusing in the RN version of events. Them going for a fuck when they get back home could possibly remedy that but eh. The events of the HA sex scene are in an even greater limbo too, which is a shame.

I like Rin and Akiha best, despite how wildly different they are. I really ought to replay Tsuki desu to be able to say anything concrete on those but I don't think any of them are bad and worst implies some of them are - I prefer "least good" and that one is definitely Sakura's. That said, people who say the movies improved the romance with Sakura are retarded niggers who probably didn't get some of the depth behind the romance.

The issue I have with the movies is they remove a lot of the issues I have with the romance, but they also remove the more interesting stuff. I guess I'll start with the bad stuff and say that Sakura in the VN could get very melodramatic and cringeworthy - the movies by shortening her scenes end up making her more tolerable and the voice actress shows a whole lot more restraint as well. A big issue with the VN is that the romantic progression is bad. Sakura still feels like a crush becoming something more rather than the lover of a lifetime by the time the truth gets revealed and it makes the Rain scene and Shirou's decision to forsake his ideals hard to swallow (a shame since I find his arc compelling otherwise). Just contrast the build-up to the big romantic moments with Saber and Rin - Shirou is really obsessed with those two whereas his feelings for Sakura feel so much more pedestrian. This is compounded by Shirou's interactions with Rin in HF where he essentially ignores Sakura and forgets about her to hang out Rin... two days before he makes his big decision to sacrifice untold innocents for Sakura. Yeah, great job of convincing me there Nasu. Sudou treated Rin like garbage here and removed so many of her scenes so that improves the romance a tad but it's really not a worthy trade off since it lessens the conflict between the sisters and I find that storyline VASTLY more compelling than the relatively bland romance of Shirou and Sakura. A similar issue arises with Shirou's denseness toward Sakura's dark side - on Day 11 when he's helping her go to sleep she starts mouthing off about her insecurities about her big sis yet Shirou is too busy thinking about how he wants to fuck her. He really has a shallow understanding of his lover of a lifetime and the movies removing that helps it feel more compelling but again undermines the Tohsaka sisters conflict.

On the other hand... I think that a common criticism of the romance and Sakura, namely that she is unimportant in the first two routes, is a bad one. The point is that Shirou is desperately trying to ignore Sakura and how important she is to him, as well his attraction to her. The minor role she plays in the first two routes perfectly sets this up. The early stages of the romance, ESPECIALLY Day 6, is all about Shirou getting to interact with Sakura more and coming to appreciate that she was always there for him. He slowly comes to realize that he, her and Taiga are kinda like a family. It's why I think the common criticism of the important moments between Shirou and Sakura being told in flashbacks in the midst of HF being bad is stupid - I think it's great since it's showing us Shirou's subjective view of his and Sakura's relationship. He is through denying her importance and retroactively assigning meaning to stuff he had up to that point dismissed. I really felt like I was seeing the world through the eyes of the character. The movies ruin this by showing us the objective reality and having the stuff with Sakura showing up to help, the key, before the events of the story and removing nearly the whole of Day 6. For better or worse this structure made the romance unique and the movie made it more generic. 1/

Another thing is that one of the more interesting aspects of the romance is that Sakura admires Shirou's perseverence and as such feels guilty about the fact that she is forcing Shirou, the boy who never quits, to abandon that which makes him unique and special to her for her own sake. I think what truly sells the knife scene for me is when Sakura acknowledges how the situation is really causing Shirou incredible inner turmoil and suffering and resolves to deal with Zouken herself to spare him of the pain. That's just gone in the movies, as is any mention of her admiration for Shirou's stubborness and how it gave her the strength to continue living. Instead in the HF movies Sakura says she admired Shirou for... quitting during the high jump............ what?

I don't like how the sex scenes are handled either. In the VN, there was something tragic about how Sakura feels this insecurity about Rin and how close she and Shirou are that she overcomes with the third sex scene, where for the first time after two previous time where Sakura came to him that HE expresses interest in having sex with her and it raises her self-esteem and gives her the will to continue on living when Gilgamesh attacks her. She even says that she can't die there because Senpai finally showed her how much he truly loves her and that if she dies Rin will get to be with him instead... and then the next day her self-esteem collapses again when she hears to what basically amounts to Rin's confession to Shirou. The movies change so much of this around it's retarded but they essentially reverse the order where Sakura regains her self-esteem after hearing Rin's recollection of the high jump by having sex with Shirou instead - which is less an issues with how the romance is handled but more the relationship between the sisters, because Sakura really has no fucking reason to despise Rin as hard as she does in the third flick and the entire scene between them just falls really flat. But overall the sex scenes were used to enhance the story better in the VN.

Frankly I don't understand why certain Sakurafags wank these movies so much. They don't really improve upon the romance. They fix some superficial aspects but blunt and remove so much of the depth - depth those Sakurafags are quick to point out as well! - that their appreciation of them is just baffling. In the end it's just because they introduced Sakura to normies and made her somewhat more popular... and also because they shit on the other characters (they REALLY resent Rin, Illya and Kirei for taking up space in "Sakura's route"). It's still pathetic though.

Oh and they count out Shirou gaining the strength to survive against Kirei after remembering Sakura. Fuck. 2/2

While the results of our previous workflow are largely readable, we do not believe they were of acceptable quality regarding prose, character voices, and handling of idioms and such. It often read too literal and stilted, however the editors were not equipped with much of a point of reference to aim for, which is why retranslation is largely necessary.

TL;DR the JP -> FR -> EN that everyone predicted would be bad was indeed bad and they had a bunch of editors so the tone was inconsistent, so they seemed to have tossed out a lot of the previous editing in favor of a new one that will (presumably) be more accurate.

It’s more like the story mode of Act Cadenza of having the arcade story for each character set in different times or different scenarios rather than following the current timeline in TsukiR. It’s more like a what if story like if Mario hired Aoko to eliminate the vampires in the town or if DA Noel killed everyone in the cast and took over the town in a apocalyptic event.
