ww1ish stalemate between an anarcho-guildist country with a static defense and an imperialistic republic using a sort of proto-blitzkrieg which failed to create any major encirclements before lines solidified. magic exists but isn't romanticized, rather entirely subordinate to the industrial organization of society i.e. entirely regimented within the military. sort of equivalent to ww1 machine guns. but there are mechanical machine guns too.

In a world where coffee is illegal, you are the loli captain of a crew of smugglers. You and your compadres read books, enjoy a nice cuppa, and philosophize while battling off the occasional pirate and law enforcement agency. Part allegory for the ongoing modern day "drug war," part gentlemanly comedy, part holy-shit-I'm-the-captain-of-a-ship.

No, Johnny is a shirtless iaido westerner, Rance is GAHAHAHA, rape-focused character.

Main character would be the kind of faceless guy who always does the right thing, and has all the abilities to assert himself and then some.

He would rack up Shirou's victory count without plot armor.

You are the daughter/son of a revered pirate captain. By his side since birth, he has taught you all he knows about the arts of plundering, smuggling, and leadership. One day, he decides to give you command of one of his ships and sends you off on an adventure ("every kid needs a good adventure"). He entrusts a crew of his finest and most trusted men to you and sends you off on your merry way.

Along the course of your journeys, you gain new crewmembers and ships for your fleet. Gameplay revolves around giving the right jobs to the right crewmates, leveling up their abilities, while pitting your ships against the enemies' fleets. The less damage you take, the less cargo and crew you lose. Defeating enemies quickly and efficiently (ie boarding their ships and taking over instead of just blowing them the fuck up) the more stuff you get to steal. There is no random encounters, opportunities for grinding, or "farming" enemies for cargo, and the mission choices are mostly linear, so there is pressure to not fuck up.

I'm actually the OP and I've had a mixture of this and the coffee smugglers idea floating in my head for a while, I just wanted to see if people would play it, while getting to hear your ideas as well.

Didn't they hint at it a while back? Not that the sequel would probably live up to our expectations though.

>> No.3877393

A game set in South America in the 17th century, except that mythology is real, and the further you get from Europe, the 'realer' it becomes. the Incans still rule, and mythological creatures fight in their armies. The population was not decimated by Smallpox and other European diseases due to divine protection.

In the game you play a bankrupt minor aristocrat of European or North American descent. The storyline revolves around the attempts of various outside factions in gaining control of the region for its gold deposits, you may either side with the Incans, an USA-British trade company, or the Spanish crown.

Particle/Antiparticle war. Throw the "annihilates each other upon contact" deal out of the window and you're set. Units include:

Electrons/Positrons: Simple infantry. Fast and cheap, but weak. Stronger versions (the Muon, Tauon and their antiparticle versions) can be produced, however they decay after a while into plain electrons/positrons and a neutrino of their side (bending physics a bit, since they actually produce two neutrinos, one normal and one antineutrino. ) Tauons can also decay to slightly weaker muons. You can undertake research to increase chances of that happening.
Neutrinos: Scout units. Extremely fast, but very fragile. Usually not worth producing on your own, just get it from muon and tauon decays.
Gauge bosons: Available to both sides. None of them can fight. They instead have other abilities. Extremely cheap. Photons lift the fog of war a great radius around them. Gluons can draw units closer to them. Weak force bosons can be fused with another particle to create a new one (or new ones. )
Hadrons/Antihadrons: Not directly produced, all are composed of quarks. You can fuse any combination of three out of six known quarks/antiquarks. This process takes a turn. Quarks themselves are rather cheap and very weak. Each hadron has its own abilities (say, give some of them ability to spawn gauge bosons) and most of the combat revolves around fusing your hadrons to handle the oppenent's existing ones.

You should also be able to produce even larger structures like glueballs and atoms by fusing your existing gluons or electron/proton/neutrons. Mesons also need to be put in somehow, despite having a quark and an antiquark.
