I have my doubts regarding this. Were we to accept that premise, the main sources of discomfort would then be the very interpretations and abominations that my mind filters out or "comes to terms with" (but that implies no discomfort). On a more general level, it is greatly ironic that anyone would expect comfort or security from a character whose defining trait when dealing with others is "rubs them the wrong way". This depends on what you refer to when you say 100%. I am naturally inclined to believe that my own interpretation is the best, as everyone usually is. Nonetheless, interpretation will ultimately be based on the individual subject, and I think it is fair for it to break free from the confines of canon when necessary. That is to say, canon is taken into consideration and integrated, while room is made for the workings of the imagination and similar mental faculties, you could call them. Being 100% right is of course not quite necessary in the grand scheme of things, and I am always open to any amendments, provided they are convincing.

Clearly, yes, my point was that they still want the things the average person would want. Not always, perhaps, the average person doesn't want to be a little girl (can't imagine wanting to be female myself), but wealth, status, luxury, sex, highly typical. That's a fairly obvious point, yes. Of course sad cases like that do happen, for a myriad of reasons, but they can only happen when they operate under the same assumptions. Someone can kill himself if he thinks that sex and a social life and a gf and so on are important and he sees others who have all of those while he has none of them and believes or knows he never will, but someone who is either indifferent to or actively hates those things would not. For a go-to font pick something sans serif that is easily readable/distinct at a relatively low resolution. All-caps bold-by-default fonts like Anime Ace do particularly well. Thin, trailing, or varying opacity decorative fonts, on the other hand, are not good for general uses but can be used to distinguish special uses. For example, in >>38615561 I used a serif font to convey the "newspaper quote" tone. Special effects/onomatopoeias could use a decorative font or be drawn by hand, like they are in the source. Take care when aligning the text, as it affects the visual appeal just as much as the font choice. IMO, when you can, it's best to disregard punctuation when aligning the text, only taking letters into account.
