My life is full of regrets. I have fucked up an astronomical amount of times. I no longer have any friends. The ones I did have turned againat me because of a combination of my own mistakes and theirs. My family hates me, and I hate them in return. From the moment I was born, I was destined to fail. I was born into a hostile environment, my family always were horrible people (Of course, that includes me. If you are surrounded by bad people your entire life, you eventually become one yourself) and I developed crippling social anxiety and trust issues. I have thought about suicide, many, many times, the earliest case being around 12-13 years old. I have never self harmed, nor have I attempted suicide, because I'm too much of a pussy and I am afraid of dying. Every single person I have ever been close with I have either pushed away, or they have betrayed me. This world has done nothing but hurt me. Look how pathetic I am writing about this on a 4chan thread, while my penis is sopping wet from cum from having just masturbated to Satoko. I have zero direction in life, am unemployed, fap everyday to loli girls, barely eat or drink and my muscles atrophied, so I look like a dishevelled lifeless corpse. It was always going to be about them, but people were at least expecting the others to get relevance somewhat approaching the original.
The original was weirdly structured, and it was ultimately a story about Rika and Hanyuu, but the others at least got good arcs for them to shine in (excepting Mion), and they were still important while building up to the final arc, even if some of them really tapered off there, like Keiichi and Rena.

In Sotsu, not only are the club members' characters completely irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, the story is actually doubly upsetting because it actually pretends like they ever mattered. Oniakashi is just a worse Tsumi, and Wataakashi only gave Mion two episodes on top of barely even trying to explore her character. Their roles are just to serve as minor antagonists for Satoko's scheme, but we spent weeks going through stories where all the important parts already happened in Gou, since the only part that has lasting effects is Rika's deaths. Tatariakashi at least furthered Satoko's character, but it was still bad and dragged on too long.
They could've sped through the Gou answer arcs in just an episode each, quickly answering the "mystery", and spend more time on the witch conflict, and Sotsu would at least be a little better, because at least it wouldn't be wasting time on what's effectively filler material. The other club members never even knew anything about what was going on. They were barely any more important than the nameless classmates.

If anything, you should complain about Lucia fanart. Not counting JK aged fanart of their casual designs, it makes up maybe 15-20% of all Gou fanart. Despite being a relatively small part of the story and only about Rika and Satoko, none of the others except a handful gags like Shion or K1 infiltrating Lucia to save Satoko.

Take this Kimikoishi-hen for example. A good and long KeiSa story, though it's more about Satoko's happiness than any shipping. The author knows Satoko better than Gou's director, that's for sure.

In an ironic twist, watching GouSotsu and the ensuing effect it had on the community made me sympathize with Ange's plight in Umineko all the more. The way she had to deal with the people of the future producing new information about her long-gone family and presenting it as fact, distorting her perception of the people she held dear memories of. It's all very similar to what the new narrative has done to the memories of the characters fans had held for the last several years.

It's almost impressive how Ryukishi is able to spit in the face of BOTH Higurashi and Umineko's themes about believing in your friends no matter what and not disgracing the memory of the departed for cheap thrills.

I think her concept works well enough, part of a species of inhuman and all-powerful entities at home in the Sea of Fragments, where the brain-damaged Hanyuu is probably the only one with something resembling morals, who gives Satoko power knowing that it would completely destroy her just for her own entertainment, but the execution fell extremely flat.
Her "conflict" with Hanyuu was shit and pointless, especially where the whole "miracle" stuff was involved, doubly so after Hanyuu acted like she was going to disappear for good after expending all her remaining power, and it's obvious that Eua was just playing along because she thought Hanyuu's struggling was entertaining, so Hanyuu can't even claim credit for any victory.
Satoko also never got to see Hanyuu, conveniently, and the whole Satoko/Rika conflict happened with them being completely ignorant about what went on in the Sea of Fragments at the time. Rika never even learns about Eua, believing that she and Satoko are the only loopers in existence even though Eua could obviously be making many more of them.
It's like the writers had some ideas and just slapped them all together, never worrying about making it into something coherent, at first doing stuff like hinting that the "Hanyuu" Rika met wasn't the real Hanyuu, given her pronoun fuck-up and general behaviour, only to act like that never happened a little later. Hanyuu "dies" after upgrading Rika (which she can do now because fuck you), powers up to fight Eua, and in the end pops back into the fragment just because, even though she couldn't even look into Rika's fragments just before.
It's frankly amazing just how poorly directed this show was.

That's kind of the point, though. The intent was definitely to show how endless looping destroys who you originally were and leave behind someone pretty different. If you were to compare the original meeper with the later depressed, alcoholic, chuuni-poetry writing meeper, you wouldn't be able to recognize her either.
The biggest issue is that Gou/Sotsu just completely failed to sell the transition, glossing over the effects of Satoko watching Rika's loops and hardly doing anything to explore Satoko's character.

I think it ends up like this just due to the epilogue suddenly bringing everyone together, aside from Rika. They should have let Satoko be alone there and then the message would have some weight. But, of course, they probably wanted the club there after they had no role in the main plot. Although all the decisions around this are dumb and self-defeating.

Are you Erika? This is precisely the argument she used to break up with her lover. We do not see the pair after they leave the stage, so because of this irrelevant piece of information they lose their love, break up and marry these people, all because it's "canon". Can you prove to me that Man X (pictured: K1 with black bar over his eyes) didn't cheat on Woman Y (pictured: Mion with black bar over her eyes) with K1's Reiwa wife?

I think all of the old cast will have small nostalgia throwbacks to the 1983 throughout the serialization, if only because that's the only familiar period to the reader. Establishing details their 1983-2019 lives would be too much for a cheap oneshot manga story.

Out of all the club members, Rika is certainly the one who is the least familiar with Keitarou, making it all the more bizarre that she immediately pins all her hopes on them.
