Seconding this. The thing with "scene" rules, whether it was usenet warez, private trackers, movie theater hand-cam rips, etc. is that they only really matter in one of two cases:
1. Hard practicality, like the standards for ripping/encoding/cataloging. For example, Oink/what.cd/RED for music and PassThePopcorn for movies are pretty particular about uploads at least rules-wise, but people mostly comply without issue because they receive a direct benefit from all their music/movies being in consistent and high quality.
2. Control of information. Where ignoring the "rules" leads to you being locked out of getting the content. Can be true with private trackers in general, but honestly as long as you're a neutral member who doesn't stir the pot from what they can see, this means very little.

So yeah just don't paint a target on yourself and use the info as you see fit.
